Thrilled with the care and attention my Mother received while at this Brookdale. It felt like I was pet of a family! The food is wonderful and I enjoyed that when visiting. They also have fun activities for residents and their family members. Thanks for all you did and I would highly suggest anyone to move their loved one into their community.

Things are good at Brookdale. The food is great, I just don’t like to eat seafood when it’s made. It’s a nice place to live. I wouldn’t change a thing!

I have had my aunt at Brookdale Century Ave for the last 4 years and my mother has been there for the last 3 years. We have had a great experience throughout the entire time. The staff has always shown a great deal of care for all of the residents. Up until the Pandemic I have spent a lot of time visiting this facility and have never seen anything that caused me to be concerned. The meals are of good quality and served promptly while hot. My mother has even been asked if there is a meal she would like to see served. The whole environment seems like a big family. Residents are definitely treated with respect and care.

I'm sorry that other reviewers had less than an ideal experience with this facility. On the contrary, my father has been happy here since 2017 and the facilities' staff have increased their care for him since as his needs have increased. And importantly for me, the facilities' core staff have become like family for me in navigating the waters of an aging parent. This "home away from home" gave me a chance to know my father in his advancing years much better than I would have been able to if he had stayed at home. Plus, he gets the care he needs and I get the support I need to continue concentrating on loving him rather than worrying about him.

My mother was only at Brookdale for a short time before she passed away. My experience seems different from some of the others posted here. I found the staff to be very engaged and helpful. They were very welcoming and checked often to see we needed anything. Mom was attended by Hospice from the hour of her admission, however, I found that the Brookdale staff was very quick to fix problems and make calls to correct any errors as a result of her hospital stay (prior to admission at Brookdale). I had to make a quick decision on a place for mom and I toured 2 other options before I saw Brookdale. I felt there was no comparison. Brookdale (although not a new building) was clean. There were far fewer residents than other places I saw. We were given a room that looked out at trees and grass and not traffic and road noise. The room was light and had good ventilation. When mom passed away, I was surprised at how timely the refund for unused services was sent. 5 stars from me.

They put two fentanyl patches on my mother and denied it. My sister found saw it after the fact and they refused to admit it or take responsibility. They could have killed her and their mistake caused a major incident. We had to move her out shortly after moving her in. There were problems from the moment we got there. The room was nothing like the one we were shown, especially since it was located very close to a loud group who met for happy hour and drank wine daily. We could hear them quite clearly through the door and as we tried to settle in we were told this loud group complained about us talking. My mother was there for a respite and she was lucky to get out of there alive.

We did not have a good experience with the memory care facility in Middleton. My mother was hit numerous times and the administrator failed to implement policies to prevent future altercations. The resident associates did a nice job in the absence of good management. The administrator has little to no interaction with residents and often seems uncomfortable around them. The medical care on site is subpar and the facility is not a good layout for memory care. There are alot of hallways and areas where residents get lost and wander without supervision. I recommend observing the day to day operations before moving a loved one here. I would also check the class action lawsuits for Brookdale before making a decision.

We like the warm, friendly, family-like environment. The apartments are a nice size to hold a sofa or love seat so that family or friends can visit comfortably. It is an older building, but well maintained. The sun room and enclosed central courtyard are especially nice. The staff has a remarkable longevity rate, with all administrators and most med-techs and aides still here after three years, or more. This means the people who care for your family member know them and their problems, habits and preferences. They have worked with me (resident's spouse) to solve any problem that has come up. The food is well above average for a care facility. I eat with my husband often and enjoy the meals! I feel at home there, since I visit several days a week. If there is anything I would wish for, it would be more aides per shift. Realistically, that is the norm.

Smaller single story location. Staff and care options seemed to be very good. There was nothing specific, but something just seemed not as different from the other Brookdale locations.

My loved one was recently at this community for a short respite stay and for the most part we where very pleased with how things had went for her. The staff where wonderful people and I was comfortable with the care they provided her. She had no complaints about the meals and enjoyed participating in some of the activities from time to time with the other residents. The staff could just not handle her wanting to take walks by her self throughout the day.

I visit my friend at Brookdale Middleton every week. She hates it there. She says she feels ignored. She is often left on the toilet for over a half hour. Other times when she pulls the cord for assistance she waits for an hour or longer. A few people on staff are friendly while others look depressed and glum. The quality of the food is poor. At mealtime there is very little conversation. The rooms are dark and poorly lit. Another reviewer mentioned wildlife . . . yes if you consider a chipmunk or two. She has had several falls. What bothers me the most is that some of the staff treat her roughly while getting her out of bed, forget to give her pain meds.,etc.. She is afraid to mention these things for fear of retaliation. I would never want my loved one at Brookdale Middleton. My friend has been on a waiting list at another place after the first week. It has been 3 months.

I had a very nice tour of this community. I was very impressed with their memory care portion of the community. Everything looked great, the community was nice looking. The staff was friendly, and answered my questions. The experience went well, and my tour was a nice one.

The staff at this Brookdale are its selling point in my opinion. They are all super friendly, supportive, caring, etc. It's a smaller community so especially good for introverts that don't want to connect with a lot of other residents. My father has only been there a couple of weeks but is doing well there. In fact, he was surprised at how much he likes it.

My mother said the staff were very nice. However, she was not happy with the food and was expecting a nurse on duty at least sometime during the day. Somedays the nurse did not come in so there was no one who could do much if you were ill. We had listed the foods my mother would not eat but those were served on several meals with nothing given to her as an alternative. She had to ask for something else so she had food that meal. Very quite place and not much activity.
