Brookdale Dr. Phillips

They told me that there was no kitchen sink. Only the bathroom. Most people use their coffee maker or bottled water. I didn't think much of it. Bottled water. It does make a difference. If I need to rinse a plate or utensils I need to go to the bathroom.

It feels very homey and not cold or clinical. Many of the residents are always out socializing with each other. Great environment. Staff is very helpful and friendly!

Brookdale Dr Phillips Assisted Living is OUTSTANDING! Both of my parents, were residents there for 2-3 years and received excellent care throughout. The attendants were very attentive to my parents and very supportive of my family. Additionally, the team was great and the community was well cared for. Brookdale Dr Phillips provided quality care and excellent service to my parents and my family.

Brookdale Dr. Phillips has been a great place for Mom. In March 2020, my Mom moved into Brookdale DP. Timing was not good in terms of it being the peak of the Covid 19 pandemic and my Mom and our family struggled with all that, just like everyone else did. Yes, visitations were difficult through the window and on Facetime for a while, but it was reassuring to know that Brookdale DP was doing everything possible to protect our Mom and the other residents, including Covid testing of residents and visitors, quarantines when necessary, temperature monitoring, providing vaccines on-site, and much more. They were great. My Mom is still a resident there, 3 1/2 years later. The nurses and CNA's are dedicated and caring. The Director, front office, marketing/sales person, activity coordinators, chef, and maintenance personnel all work hard to create a family atmosphere. We feel good that our Mom is in such a place. I highly recommend Brookdale Dr. Phillips!!!

After my 80 year-old mother fractured her hip and underwent hip replacement surgery, I was unable to care for her at home. I moved my mom into Brookdale Dr. Phillips - Assisted Living facility after taking a tour and finding it to be very homey and clean. There are several floor plans to choose from at varying price ranges so you can choose what suits your budget. There are small dining rooms throughout the facility so residents do not have to go far from their apartments to eat, and they have the opportunity to get to know their neighbors who eat in the same dining room. There are plenty of activities to keep the residents busy and engaged if they so choose. The staff members are well trained and very caring toward the residents. Over time, my mom and I bonded with several of the staff, and it was hard to leave them when we had to move her to Brookdale’s Memory Care facility, which is on the same property. Overall, I was very pleased with the facility and the care provided.

Our mom is so joyful to be living at Brookdale Dr Phillips with her dog. She has been living there for over 3 years and every day she tells us how grateful she is for her space and for the staff. Everyone has been kind, and when we have expressed a need or concern, it has been addressed and resolved with loving care and respect. The community is truly wonderful. The director [name removed] does a truly remarkable job as a leader. The employees are friendly and loving. It feels like a big family. We are truly grateful to have found this wonderful place for mom. A place she is happy to call home.

Food and food service was beyond terrible, an embarrassment. Feedback on the food/dining was taken and acknowledged but never adjusted. Rooms were not cleaned as frequently as promised. Staff was very friendly and attentive, just not great with follow through on the above items. We liked the a la carte level of care services that Brookdale had instead of one lumped in cost. It served it purpose for our family short term but I would have moved her elsewhere had this intended to be a permanent residence.

I find it very enjoyable, comfortable, and clean. Everything is very helpful and nice.

I have a few things but they are overall good.

Everyone treats me fine.

Care services could be more available for rides to additional places. Would like more variety of food for regular meals. Holiday season was nice for residents as the activities director decorated LR.

Nice community.

My loved one was there for a short amount of time, due to a fall in the community. The community found my loved one had fallen, and tried to contact the family in a reasonable amount of time to update us. The care the community was able to provide was medication management, dressing, and bathing assistance for my loved one.

It was not clear to us when we first checked in and moved our loved one is. We were lead to believe the level of care that our loved one needed was going to be provided at this community, which was not the case. Hospice recommended we moved our loved one into a smaller community so she could receive that one on one care, however this community was unwilling to work with us. They did provide a lot of activities for the residents to get involved in, unfortunately our loved one was not able to participate in them.

My wife was placed in the memory care unit where they are supposed to be able to handle patients with dementia. On day 3 of her stay I was called to say she was aggressive with the staff and I had to get outside help to stay with her at night. I did so (at my own expense) and on day 6 they called me to say they were discharging her because they could not control her. I took her out of there and placed her in Savannah grand in maitland where she has much better care and the staff reports no problems that they cannot handle. I will not recommend brookdale to anyone who has a loved one with dementia as they do not have the personnel to handle these patients
