Brookdale Deer Creek Sarasota

They are under staffed and really struggled to keep medications correct and hygiene good. They are improving but it took a lot of complaining to get basic care up to par.

Deer Creek has been very responsive to my uncle's needs and any requests that we have made. They have really tried hard to protect his dignity and genuinely seem to care about him. I chose Deer Creek because it catered to individuals with dementia and Alzheimer's. The facility is very open and easy to get around in. Great line of sight throughout.

I highly recommend Brookdale Deer Creek Sarasota. It was so nice to visit my grandma there after she was settled in. She's made a lot of friends and has all good things to say about the staff and her new home.

My father is doing so much better than living at home! There are lots of people to entertain him and he loves to sit in the atrium and work on puzzles. He loves being around all the other residents and is really enjoying it so much!

This is a pretty community that feels like a chalet in the heart of Sarasota close to downtown and lots of restaurants which is a Perfect sjirt. The backyard courtyard area is inviting with tall, oak trees, and a garden area with water flowers. The inside is beautifully decorated and feels Homey.

We felt incredibly welcomed at Brookdale Deer Creek and could immediately see that residents were treated like family. Our experience gave us peace of mind that we selected a quality facility for our father's care.

The staff are qualified, experienced and conscientious in providing the care we expect for our mother. Comfortable surroundings, courteous staff and compassion in caring for each resident.

From the moment I stepped into this community, it felt like home. The place was very clean and tidy. The staff was so kind and made me feel welcome. I noticed the residents were busy with activities. I would have no problem placing my dad here.

When touring, we were very impressed with cleanliness and openness of the facility. Also very impressed with friendliness of the staff. Staff is always cheery and friendly. Everyone obviously cares about the well-being of the residents.

Despite staff turnover, have managed to maintain high level of care. Most staff demonstrate real concern for residents and keep me informed about any concerns. Fee increase this year far exceeded inflation.

We think the staff at Brookdale Deer Creek is overall very good Everyone seems to have a pleasant demeanor and have much patience with the residents. It took our loved one awhile to adjust, but now is doing much better. There is always something to do to keep her busy. We are always welcomed at the door with smiles. All of the staff is ready to answer any questions we may have and eager to help.

It’s never easy looking for a facility for a parent or loved one, but we found Brookdale to be a gem! From the moment we made the decision to move my mom every leg of the journey has been made easy by the staff at Brookdale in Sarasota. We received our initial tour with [name removed] and every time a question pops up she was there to answer it. I can’t say enough about the staff, always pleasant, always available and we couldn’t be more happy with our decision. If you’re looking for a place for your family, this is truly a great facility with a caring staff.

When I first arrived for a tour, one of the very first things I noticed about Deer Creek was the fact it does not have that dirty smell. You can tell they do take great lengths to keep the building and residents as clean as possible. The next thing was I was greeted very warmly by the staff. [name removed] was an absolute delight to answer my many questions and tour the building with me. She introduced me to the other staff members as we walked around, including the executive director, chef, and several caregivers, as well as the Health and Wellness Director. The one thing that was crystal clear to me was the way the staff CARES about the residents & their well being. We got to sample some of the food being served for lunch (it was not planned, so no “special meal” was prepared) and quite frankly, it was delicious. If our family had in fact decided to relocate our mother to Florida, we definitely would have chose Deer Creek. It’s a warm and wonderful community

The activities and the food are great at this community. The cost is high but I know that my loved one is getting good care. I would for sure put this on your list of a community to check out for your loved one.

We chose Brookdale Deer Creek because it felt warm and friendly when we went here. I liked the physical building and the way that the rooms were set up. The staff members here were very welcoming and forthcoming with information with out me having to ask. They really care about the residents as individuals. I had a little trouble with communication, sometimes the person I needed I could not get a hold of. We had a few issues with the nursing staff as well, they were confused. Overall, I would recommend them to others who are looking.

If you can go to the community each day to see your loved one, it is a great value. If you can't, it isn't worth the money. The community was using a shower in a supply closet, instead of the resident's bathroom. I didn't find this appropriate in finding the community doing this. I had issues with the community not cleaning my loved one's electric razor. I asked for this to be cleaned several times, and I even received the razor back dirty. The food wasn't good quality. All the food was either canned or prepackaged items. I had a meal with my loved one and it was extremely salty, I even noticed other residents with swollen legs days after.

Was a little put off by congregation of residents that appeared unsupervised. Probably won't be placing mom here. [name removed] was great though.

The staff gave a wonderful tour of the community. They were very friendly and knowledgeable. We just felt that the memory unit did not have enough interaction with the other residents and it was not going to be beneficial for my mother-in-law.

My mom has started to take part in some of the activities that Brookdale Deer Creek Sarasota has for their residents and I like that the staff is accommodating and seem to care for the residents as well as understand they do need extra care. They make sure that her meals are fixed well and she likes being in the dining area. They keep me well informed and she does see the on staff doctor and nurses there. I do get a little frustrated with the laundry service and getting the right clothes back for my mom other than that things have gone fairly smoothly.
