If you have a loved one who has problems with dementia this is the place that you can trust your loved will be well taken care of with the respect they deserve. The staff is very caring. The activities are good. The only problem I had was transportation to doctors and outings due to the van in the shop.

Mom mom loves when they bring in animals for a visit. She gets to love on a very friendly dog every time they visit. They make an extra effort to bring the dog to her room if she is not in the activity center. The live music is also a big hit with my mom. She just can't stop smiling and singing along.

I moved my mother to Brookdale Creekside after my father passed away in February. They were married 76 years an had been in a memory care facility in Missouri. At her age (96) that was a lot of changes for her confused state of mind. The staff at Brookdale has been amazing, loving on her and making her feel special. The facility is always clean and a cheery atmosphere. The activities director plans very creative things throughout each day for them to do. As with the other staff she truly loves each resident. I am very blessed to have found Brookdale for my mother!

I toured this facility and it was my second choice. I loved our tour guide here and also loved that the facility is Memory Care only. They were slightly higher on their daily respite care rate.
I think they do a good job and that they care about their residents. They do the best they can. Just like any other facility right now, they're hurting for employees and are having a hard time keeping staff. That's not their fault - it's just a reflection of the time and the Covid situation. But I have been very pleased with the way they have contacted me when there have been issues with my mom. They've kept me in the loop with what's going on with her. And they are open to scheduling meetings with me, whether I have a concern or just different ideas to help my mom. Their communication with our family, from the top down, has really stood out to me.
It has been an amazing experience all around for my mom. The staff is amazing! They made my mom feel welcome and part of a family. They are great at communicating and quick to respond to mu questions.

The community is taking really good care of my loved one. My loved one loves the food and especially the deserts the community provides. There are three meals a day served to the residents. The activities director tries to engage all the residents in activities, ultimately it is the choice of the resident if they want to participate. The staff communication with the family is good.

We toured more for respite care as opposed to longer term care, but it was absolutely wonderful. As far as luxury, it was just absolutely gorgeous. They offered a lot of activities. I observed one room with residents singing along with a guitar player. There was a lot of one-one-one going on. It seemed they had a lot of employees for the clients. But we decided that home care was a better option for us at the time.
First time I entered Brookdale Creekside, I felt strangely at home. Lots of light and space, and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Food was well above average compared to others I had experienced. Most important for me was that the staff seem to genuinely appreciate my Mother, who is in late stages of dementia and can be a handful sometimes. Music is so important to her, and Brookside provides that and other nourishing treats for her soul. Thank you, Brookside, and keep up your much appreciated work.

We had to move our parent into Brookdale in April 2019, wonderful experience getting her into the facility. Due to a sudden health decline, we were able to fully move our parent into Brookdale in less than a week, which was a huge blessing as we could no longer provide 24-hour health care at home. [Name removed] and a majority of the nursing staff have been there over 5 years and are extremely professional and caring. They treat us like their own family. Facility is very clean and hygienic.

This is a tough time for memory care facilities right now with the pandemic, but Brookdale Creekside shut down to visitors quickly, and the staff has stayed healthy, so all our loved ones are staying safe. Thank you staff for getting our family through this.

My mother has lived at Brookdale Creekside in Plano, TX for the last 5 years. The staff has been helpful, kind, and oh so patient! The care they have given Mom has been consistent and much better than anything I could have accomplished at our own home. The staff celebrates birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and special occasions with the residents, often decorating and using live music. I appreciate the religious services, family support groups, field trips, and great communication. The calendar of Brookdale events is always full and varied with opportunities for families to come to the center to participate in activities with their loved one. The center itself is kept neat, clean, and smelling good by a staff that is responsive to the inevitable senior mishaps. The environment is warm and inviting, tastefully decorated. Medications are administered consistently and correctly and when different levels of care happen they are managed with ease. Flexibility was important to me and the residents are allowed to come and go with family members. My mom has come to our Plano home for all kinds of activities, especially enjoying festive Easter meals, Christmas Day present openings, and Texas A & M football games from our living room! The one area I would say could use some improvement would be the meals-usually quite good, but just not consistent. Overall I am very pleased with the director, the facility, and the loving staff...they really do treat your family member like their own! I am blessed my mom is safe, close by, and being treated well with dignity! Thank you Brookdale Creekside for making this difficult time in our mother's life more enjoyable and manageable...your outstanding staff have been a lifesaver!!

Our Mother has been there for five years. Her Alzheimer’s has contributed the decline and requirement for more care. Both my husband and I have a medical background and believe she has received excellent care. Their staff have been there a long time and really care about their patients. We are grateful for them, we can rest easy at night knowing there are caring people for her when we cannot be there.

I give this place a zero. They lie to you about all the activities and food they provide. No activities what so ever. The activities director [name removed] does nothing all day except playing on his phone. There don’t have enough staff during meals. Management is never around to help. Food is awful 99% of the residents don’t even eat the food. They serve left overs , if you love your loved one look elsewhere don’t waste your time and hard earned money.

Everything has been going awesome so far with my mother being here. It was hard for me personally to put her in a home. However, knowing that she is doing well and adjusting has helped us in more ways than one. They take good care of her and she is gaining weight. The food that they are providing, we need to bottle this and sell it. It is just that good. Every day I will go visit her and accompany her at the dining area. She cleans her plate every time, have her dessert and she eats like a horse. Everything that I have observed seems very balanced and nutritious as well. The staff team is really great. There is one girl there that runs around tending to everyone. They are very caring and I’m happy with them. It can’t be easy doing what they do so I definitely commend them. They also provide activities for the residents to participate in. Almost every day there is some sort of activity. In this season they had ornament making. They also have activities that cater to the memory care residents and they have great entertainment. My mother loves the music and she frequently tries to get up out of her wheelchair to start dancing. I definitely recommend this community to others. It is a facility that strictly deals Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and memory care.

The community was run well while my loved one lived there. The staff was very friendly and attentive to her needs. The reason we moved had to move her out was just she required a higher level of attention, but while she was here the place was good to her.

I had a nice tour of this community. The person I spoke with was nice and knowledgable. The community seemed clean. They specialize in memory care, however mom was not ready for this so we did not choose this community.

We toured here when we were looking for options. We were looking into memory care, you had to walk through the entire facility to get to the very back corner where the memory care was under lock and key. The dining area in there was horrible compared to the one we had to walk through in the other area. There was a resident sitting in there all by himself, he was stuck and alone. It was like a dungeon in there, the great room was small and they had a little tiny fish tank. We did not choose to use their memory care.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
