Brookdale Conway

Dad was admitted to Conway early March. A month later, he complained of great pain. Mom told Conway’s nurse but was unsure if she was taken seriously. Next day Conway sent Dad to hospital. He was so constipated that doctors moved him to ICU to pump him out. His blood pressure was low; he was dehydrated and he had a severe UTI. An ICU doctor told us to consider palliative care. Yet, just 3 months before, Dad had been in good health. It took only a month at Conway to reduce him to near death. Fortunately, he survived and is now at an excellent facility, as is Mom. I now know what great care looks like and Conway is far from it. At my parents’ present homes, we can ask questions about their bills. Not at Brookdale: they expect you to just pay. They ignore questions even when they raise prices. They charged for Dad’s personal care when he was no longer there, at a higher rate than assessed and without the 30-day notice their contract stipulates. I have made a formal complaint to the AHCA.

I would recommend the facility. Overall they are doing well.

I would recommend when comparing to others yes. Overall good but they are slow to reduce the cost of extra service once mom didn't need it and like everyone else they are having a hard time filling certain positions. Overall very happy. Majority of staff are very dedicated.

My loved one is currently a resident at Brookdale Conway. The staff is great. They are very friendly and responsive to an evolving situation. The cleanliness, care services and food are very good. The value for cost is okay. Overall, I would recommend Brookdale Conway to others.

The cleanliness, care services, meals and activities are good. I would suggest better communication on contract signing and when payment starts. That communication was not clear for us. Everything was wonderful job well done

Every day I visit my former neighbor. I am amazed at the loving care she is receiving. She has been here 1 year. The staff is very friendly to me and includes me in with the activities.

The place seemed fine to me in my dealings with everybody there. Everything was under control. But it didn't quite fit my loved one's needs as expected - she required extra care that cost us quite a bit extra. They only had four aides on staff at night, and there are a lot of people living there in various physical conditions. I spoke with some of the other residents, and they seemed to be doing okay there. It just didn't quite fit our needs.

I would recommend the community. The staff are great and they care about the residents. My loved one was here for a short amount of time before passing.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. I also recommend you continue to show up and visit your loved one to make sure things are being done as they should be. The staff communication is good with the family. There are three meals a day served and the resident's do have choices to choose from.

Be wary of price increases. Really the only issue I have is they always seem to want to bump up the price. You come in at once price, and about every other month, they have a reason why it has to go up. Otherwise the staff and the care that they're providing has been good.

We chose Brookdale mainly due to the convenient location to us so I could get there quickly if need be. I think they need to check on the residents more often. The personnel in the halls are very loud and that is not respectful to the residents. We have some communication issues with the administrative staff as well and getting things passed on. In the shared rooms, the residents are allowed to have pets, but I think if residents have pets they should have their own private rooms. I do think that they need a camera installed that way when residents wander and things get stolen, they would be able to figure out who it was and what happened. On the weekends, they have limited medical techs on the floors and only 1 nurse, they have 20 residents. I would still recommend them, I just think some changes need to be made.
