What attracted me to Brookdale Concord, was the friendliness of the staff, especially Blake in admissions. The overall atmosphere of the assisted living building and the memory care building. Last but least, seeing how happy the residents were. In addition, the doctors seemed to really care about that welfare of the patients. They told the time to thoroughly examine the clients, listen to them, and their families. The caregivers did come relatively quickly when there was a need. Most all were kind and helpful. Meals were always good and the variety was nice. The dining room was kept clean and free from food that would end up on the floor. On the other hand, although we had a few unpleasant situations, for the most part we were very happy with the care.... Read more

I would recommend Brookdale's memory care to others for their loved ones. I would also recommend you go and visit your loved one that is in the community to ensure your loved one's room and bathroom are being cleaned by the community. In addition to the prior recommendations, please keep any valuables at home that you don't want to come up missing. The staff are easy to work with if the family has questions or concerns about our loved one. The only thing we are not happy with is that there is no welcoming or introduction packet or orientation for the family. I think this could be improved along with the proactive communication from the staff to the family.

We pay someone to go in 3x per week to check on our loved one, to make sure they are eating and their clothes is changed. We have found them, in the same clothes for several days. Be sure to have someone check on your loved one, no matter where they are. As it relates, we have seen a difference in the last two weeks. There is new nursing management, so we are hoping that things will get better, and be a more postive experience.

Our family was going through a little bit of a chaotic time before our loved one moved in and they were very understanding of our situation which was something we really appreciated. They did not hound us for payments or anything regarding the move in process. Some of the staff have been there for 15 plus years which really speaks to the longevity which means to us that the staff are happy, they feel secured where they are at and with their job, how much they like it and just overall a really good work environment. The staff are very easy to work with, whenever we call with questions especially with billing since we have only been there for a short while, they are very responsive. The staff have really gone that extra mile to show genuine compassion to our loved one and our family. They work on ways to redirect our loved one if he is needing some direction. They work to get to know him on a personal level. They are very understanding on how to fix problems if problems arise, it is very residents forward and they never take that "easy way out" approach. So far all the activities are loved ones goes to really loves them. Overall the community is very clean which was one big selling point for us, there common/gathering areas are very clean and no smells. The only reason we gave it 4 out of 5, is sometimes our loved ones carpet could use a little more attention. The meals seem to be so far so good. We do like the fact that the price is all inclusive as well, we don't have to worry about the nickel an dime aspect. Overall even though our loved one has not been there for to long we are very pleased with how everything is going and he seems very happy there. We also really like how the staff are constantly reaching out to our mother who is considering moving in on the assisted living side to be closer to our father, they reach out to her and tell her all the time how much fun she will have, how welcomed she will feel which is something we really appreciate. It really has that family like atmosphere to it.

Our tour with Brookdale Concord Parkway was just okay. There were some positives to the facility, but we just did not get that warm and inviting feeling that we were looking for from the staff and atmosphere.
I think it's a great community. [name removed], the sales/marketing person, was exceptional in helping us get my dad in there. There was a waiting list, and my dad really needed a placement quickly. So [name removed] called and asked people on the waiting list if we could put my dad ahead, and they agreed. There was VA paperwork that needed to be faxed, but their fax wasn't working. He drove from Concord to Salisbury to get that paperwork in for us. There was only an interim Executive Director when we moved in, but now they've hired one, and he is exceptional. I have his number, and I can text him anytime I have an issue and he will take care of it immediately. The caregivers are really sweet to my dad too. He absolutely loves is the food and tells me every day how good it is. All round it has been a good situation.

I really liked Brookdale, this was my first choice and I was surprised my grandmother did not choose this facility. It was super nice and it is very highly rated. When we were touring residents were doing physical therapy and activities were going on, there just seemed like a lot to do. She went with another facility because she knew a couple people in there, but I think this would have been a great choice.
This was a nice community. My loved one choose another community based on familiarity.
They were very informative during my tour. It felt that once I signed the contract they weren't as informative for me.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. Overall, I have been pleased with them. The community doesn't have enough options for dietary restrictions. The staff is pretty easy to work with, and accessible to answer questions or address concerns.

We choose Brookdale Concord Parkway because they were the only ones in the area that would go into medicaid once her funds ran out so she can stay here. The room sizes here are excellent. The staff members are really very attentive with their residents, if something goes wrong they seem to handle everything perfectly. They make sure to call you and follow up. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

I would recommend this community to others. I know my loved one is safe and cared for, but you have to fight for communication. The activities director, Rosetta, is amazing.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
