I would give all categories a 5 except for the cost. While I realize it is costly, the expense is really too high. However, based on the experience we have had, we would recommend this community to other families.... Read more
At our memory care community, we believe no matter where an individual is on life's journey, each has the right to continue living in a dignified manner and enjoying meaningful experiences every day. As you consider memory care for your loved one, you'll find just what you're looking for in our safe, comfortable, home-like environment in the quiet community of Brookfield, Wis., just a short drive from Milwaukee.
Deeply rooted in a person-centered approach, our Alzheimer's and dementia care is called the Clare Bridge program, where each resident is surrounded by others with the same cognitive abilities so they feel like they fit in. Clare Bridge focuses on sustaining feelings of belonging, purpose and safety while seeking to preserve a sense of self. More simply, we meet them where they are.
On any given day, our residents are gathering for a movie, playing memory games, singing karaoke, tossing a beanbag around, dancing, baking, reminiscing about the old days, listening to music, playing cards, getting creative with arts & crafts or pampering themselves with manicures. They also enjoy getting out for picnics or scenic drives. These activities are fun, and our residents enjoy them, but they're part of a carefully designed care program...

The was fine, everything that was said to me was fine. I just didn't like what I saw. I is a small community and super old. It had a terrible smell. As I was touring they were cleaning an area that had a chemical smell. This turned me off about the place. I also saw too many residents in the community, this was not the right fit for us.

Very friendly staff who are willing to work with you. It has been a very good experience, considering the circumstances of having to place my mom in a home. I am very comfortable having my mother at this community.

At Clare Bridge Brookfield I would rate friendliness a 10 if I could. When the staff came to do the interview they were so kind. They were just the best people that I talked to. They gave us religious freedom. The staff and management are just amazing at this facility. They really met our needs in a difficult situation.

I was very please with the service at the Clare Bridge of Brookfield. The staff was engaging and considerate. They were very attentive. The Staff was just great. We made a transition from a larger place, which is more hospital like. The smaller facility was more personal. I thought the did a great job and great service. A place for mom provided superb services. Thank you for your services.

They do a very good job. They are extremely responsive, if there is an issue they take care of it right away. Mary has gone above and beyond to try to engage my loved one with activities. Rebecca the administrator, is available all the time, there isn't anything you can't go to her with. Katy the salesperson was awesome, we had such a connection, and she followed up with me, and she took the time to get to us, and even had a cat gift for me when we came back. Janet the receptionist is awesome too. Nobody is parked in front of a T.V. everyone is engaged and busy. We are just very happy with them.

Mom was only in Clare Bridge for three weeks, and one of those was spent in a hospital, because she had fallen. She returned to Clare Bridge to a hospice program run by Wheaton Fransiscan. The hospice workers said that the Clare Bridge people were extremely helpful. Our family was pleased with all the attention Mom got and with all the daily and more contacts with me to let me know what was happening, even though I visited each day.

it's more for just dementia. It's very nice but I'm upset about everything right now. A small room for my mom is $4400 and everything is a la carte. You have to add on the laundry, the housekeeping, the bathing, the medication. You get the meals included but everything else is added on. I just think you're dealing with dementia patients - you know they need help with everything. Why don't you just have one lump fee? It's very sad.

I was favorably impressed with this residence, however, I did have a little negative vibe from the way the employees talked about the residents--just seemed a bit condescending. Loved the atmosphere, small hallways, courtyard. Seemed overly air conditioned to me.

Only 24 units, all private. Older place (20yrs). Nice surroundings but smaller overall. Have day trips out for the residence. Courtyard in the middle, not that inviting. Can go outside on either side but Capitol drive traffic noticable. Laid out in a square for walkers.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Brookfield Capitol Drive 8.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
