At our memory care community, we believe no matter where an individual is on life's journey, each has the right to continue living in a dignified manner and enjoying meaningful experiences every day. As you consider memory care for your loved one, you'll find just what you're looking for in our safe, comfortable, home-like environment in the quiet community of Brookfield, Wis., just a short drive from Milwaukee.
Deeply rooted in a person-centered approach, our Alzheimer's and dementia care is called the Clare Bridge program, where each resident is surrounded by others with the same cognitive abilities so they feel like they fit in. Clare Bridge focuses on sustaining feelings of belonging, purpose and safety while seeking to preserve a sense of self. More simply, we meet them where they are.
On any given day, our residents are gathering for a movie, playing memory games, singing karaoke, tossing a beanbag around, dancing, baking, reminiscing about the old days, listening to music, playing cards, getting creative with arts & crafts or pampering themselves with manicures. They also enjoy getting out for picnics or scenic drives. These activities are fun, and our residents enjoy them, but they're part of a carefully designed care program...

If your loved one does not need a lot of care due to mobility issues, the place is great. Common areas are well kept but rooms are not cleaned even weekly. Things go missing or to other residents even when everything is labeled. I would not recommend them based off of our experience.

It is a wonderful place, with a team approach that is very effective with dementia patients and the families that love them! I can't say enough about the caring and considerate care givers that help me and my dad on a daily basis. The world is a better place because of them!

the staff and care givers are amazing! The food is great, and activities are structured to address the needs of each resident. Brookdale feels more like a home than a care facility. Needs are addressed promptly with care and respect

I rarely do reviews, but I think this place deserves a review. I love how it feels like home when you enter ...I felt warmly received in a clean and healthy environment. The staff is very attentive, caring, and warm with the residents. The head director [name removed] is a new face that greets you at the door with a smile. There are Many great long term employees who make the residents a priority daily! We were so lucky to be referred to this home for our Mom. We have all the trust in the world that she is in good hands.

The people who work here seem to be very caring for the residents. When the time comes for my father, this will be his new home. Comparing to other places, this is a good value and we like the location.

Response from Brookdale Brookfield Capitol Drive
February 22, 2023We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and are sorry to hear you feel this way. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss with you further and encourage you to reach out to our management team.
Everyone signal staff member gets to know each and every resident and their individual quirks, likes, dislikes, etc. My dad likes the small atmosphere yet it is not cramped. Plenty of places to sit alone or with others.

This wasn't a great experience for us. Some of the staff were super nice, but the younger staff seemed to always be on their phones and not caring for the residents. My loved one's room seemed to smell a lot of times when we visited. Activities weren't happening, they said it was due to being short staffed. Housekeeping needs improvement. Trash wasn't always collected and laundry got lost often even though it was labeled. I would go to visit and my loved one would be wearing other residents' clothes. I feel like it could have been better for such a small community. Communication with the family was ok. The food itself was ok. When I visited, I would often hear the staff conversations in the hallways and the things I heard them saying were very unpleasant. You have to be buzzed in at the front door when visiting. A lot of times we would have to wait outside for several minutes to be buzzed in because there was no one running the front area. Overall, they don't keep their promises. There are just so many issues. I would not recommend them to family and friends.

Right when we walked into the community we noticed just how clean and bright it is. The people that work there are so kind and are always greeting us and welcoming us when we come to visit. We were going through a difficult time and the staff were just extremely helpful. We also really like the size of the rooms they have for the residents. Our loved one is extremely pleased with being at Brookdale Brookfield
This community was nice but I just did not get the feeling that this was the place for my loved one when I walked in.
Extremely nice facility. Of the four facilities we visited, it was probably our favorite. [Name removed], in the reception area, is an absolute gem, making one feel welcome on first contact. Loved the size and layout. Suspect this would have provided the most personalized program for Mom.

Overall it was a pretty nice place. The food was decent, the staff was friendly, and it was kept clean. The care was ok. What I didn't like is that I had to shave my dad, comb his hair and ask someone to help him with brushing his teeth. There were activities like sing alongs, tossing a ball, and making various crafts. Once a month there was an outing. My dad had only spent 2 months there as he passed away at the end of this June so I don't have a long term assessment.

This community is nice place that is clean and well maintained. You see french doors leading out with lots of light coming through the community. It is a very small place that is more homey. Since my parents are living here it they are trying to get use to the lifestyle. My parents eat very well and the activities are good. The activities are not everyday but it is available often through the week. The apartment is a good size with a bathroom.

Brookdale Brookfield Capitol Dr is an exceptional memory care facility. My mother was a resident there from May 2015 until her passing in September 2016. Each and every day the entire staff provided patient, thoughtful and compassionate care. Yes, occasionally there were some bad and/or chemical odors which is to be expected from this type of facility but Brookdale was very clean and my mother's and other residents needs were always promptly addressed. Communication was excellent between the staff and the family and we were kept informed of all physical and psychological issues. The staff was truly her second family.
