Surrounded by a compassionate team of trained caregivers, residents at Brookdale Austintown can look forward to a well-rounded and tailored lifestyle. Individuals seeking memory care receive gentle guidance and support throughout their days here, in the forms of the Clare Bridge and Solace programs.
The Clare Bridge program was created more than 30 years ago and is an exclusive brand of dementia care. It provides residents with six structured activities each day and is designed to help them maintain their abilities and skills. It also features several engagement areas throughout the community for residents, including a safe place to garden, a woodworking station, a kitchen, and other task-related spaces. The Solace program provides an extra layer of enrichment by allowing additional time for grooming assistance, as well as activities with music and aromatherapy.
Residents and families can find peace of mind knowing staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency. A 24-hour security system, secured entrances and exits, and keypad entries have also been installed, to offer added protection. Staff members are available each day to assist with meal preparation, transportation, housekeeping, home maintenance, and other daily chores.

Response from Brookdale Austintown
February 16, 2023Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback!
I have been telling others that this is the best community around and we have had an excellent experience. The staff are taking great care of my loved one, who has declined quickly. They are doing everything to keep me updated. Also, they are keeping great watch over and providing wonderful care for my loved one. There are three meals a day and snacks for the residents. They use fresh veggies from the garden. The food is very nutritious for the residents as well.

Response from Brookdale Austintown
October 5, 2022Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. The health and well-being of our residents is our top priority and we have shared your concerns with our management team for review.
Unfortunately we had great hopes, however, most employees and many, many residents left while we were there. We did not go into it thinking we would leave. I would not recommend Brookdale Austintown. Billing was terrible and the pharmacy was inaccurate also.

It concerns me that she falls so much. Otherwise, the staff is wonderful.

There has a big change of staff. This has been difficult due to no communication. The activities coordinator was very friendly, and they have been outstanding here. They try very hard with the activities to interact with the residents. They lost a chef during quarantine. This location is exclusively for Alzheimer's Care.

We chose Brookdale Austintown because of the size, it is a smaller community so there is better 1 to 1 care and the staff members really understand dementia and Alzheimer's. I have seen a complete 180 turn in my brothers attitude since moving in here. They made him feel so at home that he has been totally fine even since the lock-down. The best part about this community is the fact that the residents feel like this is their home, they are not trying to get out all the time. I would highly recommend it.

We chose Brookdale Austintown because the staff was awesome, very genuine. The atmosphere also seemed very loving and caring. The room sizes here are great. The food here is AMAZING, it is all chef prepared meals and very fresh foods. We were there filling out paperwork for my dad and they brought us dinner and it was so good that we had to ask to meet the chef. The best part about the community so far is the social atmosphere, they always have something going on. I would absolutely recommend.

It is a good place if you have the funds. They do not accept Medicaid. The room sizes are good. They have a nice lobby area and other common areas. They have an outdoor courtyard. The staff has been nice and helpful.

I would not recommend Brookdale to anyone. We had my loved one there and they had dementia and behaviors, we had a private caregiver with him daily. The staff was not patient, they threatened to hit him. There was no compassion.

We really liked this community and it was super nice. We liked that it was smaller so that mom can feel more at home. We also liked seeing the staff interacting with the residents and the residents looked happy.

Based on what I have seen so far Brookdale Austintown is a very nice facility! It is a dedicated memory care community. It is well staffed, and the facility is clean, bright, and spacious feeling. Our loved one has only been here a short time, but so far I am very impressed! It is a definite improvement over the previous memory care community we had been using.

We like it. She is back to her normal self again. We have seen a big change, she feels like she has a little more independence. They do what they can to make them comfortable. If she can't sleep and wants to go down the hall and sit in the TV room she can, or if she is tired she can sleep. She loves their food! They got a new chef, and they asked what she likes, and they accommodate that. It's strictly Alzheimer's and Dementia. They do accept medicaid eventually, down the road. They even give you a label gun so you can mark all your stuff when you come in. And they give each new resident a set of towels or sheets, or robe or slippers, or some thing they could use as a welcome gift. It's a fairly small facility, and they have about a five to one ratio, and they are so friendly, and well trained.

My sister has only been there a short time so I am not ready to rate them on value or activities offered. I learned about Clare Bridge through church members who have loved ones living there and my first impression of Clare Bridge was so favorable. I was not sure if it was in my sister's budget but once we realized we could manage it was our first choice. I looked at a couple other places and so did my family members and we all thought Clare Bridge was the best.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Austintown 9.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
