We were there for one week. $[removed] intake fee. Experienced very little patient care. EMT's were called because of anger instead of working with patient. It is a dementia ward. Instead we were asked to leave. Do you ask all challenging patients to leave. Our bill was another $[removed]+ for the week's services. Our experience was one week= over $[removed] which leaves a bad taste in the mouth and I will never recommend your facility to anyone.

The care and compassion that my mom received was very close to being family. Additionally, we were all treated with a lot of kindness and compassion when we visited and when we needed anything care related for Mom. I would highly recommend Bridgeport Place.

I am the POA for a resident who had lived at Bridgeport Place, since 2017. He was an unassisted resident. Meaning he did not have any medical needs, just the normal house cleaning the facility provided. When he moved in, the price for unassisted living was over 3,000. After a while the price increased, at one time the facility increased the rent to 4340. without notice, it was just pulled from the bank. After my due diligence, it was corrected back to 3,400 and some odd amount. Then quickly, raised to 4340. This is still for unassisted living. My dear friend passed away, on [date removed], like clock work the 4340 was pulled from the bank on the 1st of Dec. it is now January, I am still waiting for a refund. Call after call, email after email, no response either by email or phone offering an update on the refund. It is not about the refund, what really matters is if they treat me this way, how much more are they treating other family members this way.

Lack of night time care led to aggressiveness for my loved one here and we were asked to leave. He wasn't here for very long. We ended up paying a very large amount of money for a short unsatisfactory stay of care. I wouldn't recommend them to family and friends.

It ended up costing a ridiculous amount per day because he passed away so soon. They had a minimum charge period, so we had to pay for days even after he died. Including the one time community fee. Make sure those you refer know it is collected even if someone lives there less than 7 days.

There were a few glitches, but Bridgeport Place was 100% on it. When we checked in we thought we knew what my mom needed, but things changed. Bridgeport said, "Give us feedback - we want to know". I would move here! They were very receptive and the place was so nice. It was just like being in an apartment building. It wasn't like what you would expect of an old nursing home. I strongly, strongly recommend them and I would tell anyone that. We have church friends who have moved in; they sold their house and voluntarily moved in to assisted living. They have excursions and they ask them, "where do YOU guys want to go"? They love that; they love the freedom they have and the way they felt living there.

Response from Bridgeport Place
July 20, 2022Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
I like it so much, that I myself would want to go. I told my kids, If they needed a place for me, put me here. My loved one enjoys the food and the staff is very helpful. No complaints outside of the fact that sometimes his neighbor is loud in the night and it wakes him up.

Only assisted living, spaces too small. Didn’t tour.

I would say this is a good choice for a community. This is a smaller community and bit more personal for the residents. They are friendly as well. I wish there was more cohesion in communication with the staff, to the caregivers, residents and families.

We chose Bridgeport Place because we liked the quality of the facility, the fact that they had a nurse on site, the rooms were a nice size and it was clean. The location was good for family as well. The staff members here are very friendly and accommodating. It is very difficult right now with covid and not being able to go inside and visit, but they have been the most accommodating that they can be.
You still have to be very involved with the care of loved one. The receptionist is nice, the lead nurse nice, but there are a lot of inexperienced staff. There a high turnover which has caused my loved one a great deal of stress and frustration. The food is not very good. We chose this community because the director there was great at the time, I would not recommend this community for memory care.

Seemed very inconsistent, staff on first meeting seemed very well rehearsed to appear friendly, people living there seemed to be living in someone else's home - very sterile, I know it's a business but when finding a place for a loved one, you're really looking for a team that will care and a place that's comfortable and not just nicely decorated.

Response from Bridgeport Place
January 28, 2019Hi, I'm Katie, I work at Milestone Retirement's support center. Thank you for leaving sincere feedback regarding your tour of Bridgeport Place. You're absolutely right in saying that senior living communities should be warm and welcoming. I've shared your feedback with Bridgeport Place's regional team. Thanks again, Katie - Digital Marketing
Beautiful place, very welcoming, had our name on a place on the front desk. How ever we are looking more for retirement community more on the move with pool, fitness, walking trails. this was in town, busy street, fewer parking for us.

They were not willing to allow our mother to come back to the facility because she needed her food puréed after about 3 months of being there. She didn't need anyone to feed it to her and she always ate at the dinning area, but they were not willing to do that and bring her meal to the table. So while she was in the hospital due to aspiration pneumonia, they told us she could not come back at all. So we had to scramble in 3 days and find a place to put her. So we worked with a service to find an Adult Family Home that could prepare her food for her. I mean, all it would take would have been the kitchen staff take whatever meal she ordered and puree each serving and put it on her plate. We watched them serve her at the AFH once we found one (and most are willing to prepare what the client needs) and it took them all of 10 extra minutes so make her plate.

Amazing location! Everyone on the staff was friendly honest and helpful. From the time that we entered the facility, we felt very welcomed. The property and rooms were very very nice. We would definitely recommend this property.

My dad got excellent care at Bridgeport Place. However, I was very frustrated when I received his final bill (he had to move to a higher level of care). He was charged over $160 for carpet cleaning (for a small studio apt) AND over $800 for carpet replacement. I had been told at final walk-thru that if the carpet would have to be replaced, I would be notified, which I was not. I certainly didn't expect to have to pay for both cleaning and replacement--both of which I think were overpriced!

A Place for Mom has scored Bridgeport Place 7.7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
