Cost in my opinion is on the high side, but it was less than some of the others around. They were great overall, very friendly and helpful. My only dislike was the overall cost. They are also not very flexible with the timing in when they get paid.... Read more

Staff is great. Management is awful. Owner is impossible to deal with. Food is awful. Portions are very small. I do not recommend.

Their Director of nursing was terrific. Honestly it was the most challenging tine for me and in 5 months time I lost both my parents. Experiencing memory care was eye opening but I dont know that there is a better place for that. It is what it is.

I would never recommend this facility. We moved in a few months ago and since then the Director has changed, the head nurse has changed and the food score last month was a 73 and NONE of this was communicated with families. They have no communication set up for families at all.

Facility is very nice and clean. Patient staff is very friendly and helpful. Management/owner of the facility should be ashamed. Nobody has answers to any questions. You are always directed to an email that goes unanswered. The rent is being raised an insane amount and they are not giving the residents nutritious meals. It has gone from great to horrible in the last few months.

overall they do a good job, the staff is good, my opinion about all of these facilities in this field is they are way overpriced. some of the questions would be answered differently for regular assisted living, the are my answers for memory care. also, they aren't willing to work with people on billing issues such as the due date for the bills, it's on the 1st but you have until the 10th, but say social security or paychecks don't hit until the 12th then you are penalized. Of course if someone is super wealthy and doesn't live paycheck to paycheck it might be different

The only real concern that I would have is the lack of communication with the family. My mother has dementia and her memory is not good. I have asked for updates on how she is doing from their point of view and cannot get anyone to call me back. I live close by, so I go over there often to see what's going on. But having a way to get regular updates on my mother would be beneficial. The facility seems to be clean, but in some of the common areas the carpet is stained. I'm not sure if shampooing them would improve the look or if it's just time for the carpet to be replaced.

It's beautiful but the care is lacking. We picked this community for our loved one, because of your recommendation.

We picked this community because of the cleanliness and newness of the facility, along with cost. We had an Unprofessional caretaker, don't send your loved one unless they are very independent.

I would say that everyone is friendly. They have plenty of staff. I like the door is open 8-8. It is clean and the only thing I don't like is they won't give family a key to my moms room . She can't get up to let me in very well or doesn't hear knock and want to get up so I have to find someone working in the hall every time to let me in. They also , like all other places, have no checklist for people by day so no idea if mom got a shower or if someone edit her to brush her teeth. I have to notice. Or try to find out. Saturday person doesn't know if Tuesday person for mom to shower.

Skipped meals and dining rating because food was excellent 5/5, but dining room atmosphere is terrible 1/5. The community sales director is wonderful and energetic. The community is pristine. The food is excellent. The executive director is focused more on the overall look of the facility to the detriment of the residents. The care is administered in a boot camp mentality and the residents are getting yelled at everyday for not being able to help themselves. Sometimes residents have to wait in excess of 2 hours for a caregiver to respond to the call button. My mom was told that her name was on a "list of people we aren't allowed to help." She routinely had to wait over an hour after each meal for the caregivers to completely clean and reset the dining room before someone could assist her in returning to her room. She was miserable and has already moved out of the facility.

We have been remarkably pleased with Brickmont. It is always very clean but does not smell of Lysol. The dining room is clean and the food looks fine. At this point we are pleased with Brickmont and it is affordable. We are happy with the outdoor garden area to sit with her. So far we have had a satisfactory hair cut and a pedicure for her.

They have been good, but sometimes it's hard getting in touch with someone, and getting a phone call returned. They have bee very nice. They aren't intuned to caring for elderly people. My loved one likes the food. They could improve on the communication, and maybe add more staff. The caregivers have done a great job. Overall, it's been a good experience.

You have to stay on top of them to make sure all services and departments are operating as expected. Overall they are a caring group of people. I feel like I can go on vacation for a week and my loved one is cared for.

The only complaint I have is they rarely respond to your questions in a timely matter. Its like getting an act of congress to speak to someone about the billing. We would recommend this community to other families, but they will need to be persistent in getting answers. Unfortunately I am not where I can check on my dad like I would but they don't give any updates period.

We had a great tour with Brickmont Woodstock. We thought it was a really nice facility. For us it just came down to the location, unfortunately it was quite a distance from our house which would make it difficult to visit often.
The staff member, the facility itself and the meals (which had really good options and were all tasty) were some of the main reasons we picked this community. Our loved one came for respite care and we loved how the level of care was all inclusive which was gigantic. It was a great experience and we would go back given the option to. The head nurse could not of been nicer - she was very responsive when communicating by text because you could not leave a voicemail due to her phone always being full. The only negative or opportunity to improve on is that after looking at other communities they are still very strict with covid protocols. We do understand why and we know safety is most important so that is just something picky. However we could not eat with our loved ones unless we rent out a small room which was very isolating, and they have these gathering rooms for visitors but we were not allowed to sit in them. If we wanted to visit with our loved one, it had to be in the apartment which was very small.

A Place for Mom has scored Brickmont Woodstock 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
