The food and facility and caregivers were excellent. I would wholeheartedly recommend the memory care unit to anybody looking.

My mom was only at Atria for about 3 months but we had a great experience over there. Super nice facilities and staff.

They have a great staff at Atria Mount Pleasant. My mother in law has made a lot of friends there. She loves the activities they have.

Helped us make the transition seamlessly. Very engaged with us and eager to assist. Food is excellent too! Studio was outfitted for us with snacks and supplies, very comfortable studio. Residents are friendly to my mother which makes it easier for her. One downside is we are contracted for level 1 care but my mother has declined all ADL assistance.

Overall experience - Is a 4 bc of the high turnover in all key positions. Thankfully, the new hires are even better than the old (and I liked the old), but it was disruptive to have so much constant change. Cleanliness - Always immaculate. Friendliness of staff - Everyone is great here and goes out of their way to help you. Quality of care-They will do anything for you, but you have to ask. Navigating their system is difficult at first and we had some confusion as to who to contact for what. The Dining Director is amazing and an excellent chef herself, but service is often slow and food can be luke warm. Activities - Tons of opportunities to do a variety of things. Daily social hours are very popular. Value for cost - I think they are slightly high cost, but again the place is very beautiful and the staff is very kind and caring, so it's worth it for us.

They get you in and then start raising the rent. Food quality from day 1 has steadily declined. Still waiting for maintenance repair on refrigerator 6 months later

Response from Atria Mount Pleasant
September 13, 2024Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. I've shared your review with our Executive Director and she is available to speak with you directly about your concerns and address any maintenance issues. I am also available if you need further assistance at CustomerService@AtriaSeniorLiving.com.
I have nothing but good things to say about Atria Mount Pleasant! During our initial tour we were very impressed with the tour guide. She knew every resident's name and their story. She gave us suggestions of what to look for in a tour, knowing we would be looking at other places. She showed us all parts of the facility, including the memory care part, which other places didn't offer to do. Every staff member is friendly. We have eaten at Atria on numerous occasions and the food is delicious. We are impressed with the activities offered to the residents. Last of all, my step mom's apartment is quite large and beautiful!!

Atria Mount Pleasant is a beautiful and well maintained facility. The staff are all super duper nice and so are the residents. There are a ton of activities all day and great parties and events. The majority of time, the care is good but they have had a couple of staffing issues and my mom had emergencies and they did not respond. She had to call 911 herself. But that was a singular incident. The food is pretty good, but they also have staffing issues with that. Overall, my mom is doing well there.

Not enough attn paid to moms condition and she ended up at the ER several times. The last time she was in bad shape. Moved her to [community name removed] for rehab and she is there now full time. The staff are friendly but need more staff. That is everywhere though. The activities director when she started had a lot going on and i was very pleased. When he left activities slowed. It is expensive but nice. Would be better for higher functioning people. Mom has been at [community name removed] since [date removed] . No ER trips. They are very proactive. Better fit.

The independent living apartments are a good size but you have to move if you need assisted living and those accommodations are the size of small hotel rooms. There is McCleod Home Services on campus, separate from Atria staff, that has been helpful but we have had several extreme over charges and there is lots of turnover in the McCleod staff. Often there is no supervisor and communication is poor. The front desk staff and the restaurant servers are very friendly and helpful. We really like it for Mom. I only wish is she could stay in her apartment and increase nursing services.

Staff very friendly. Wish they would do a better job of ensuring she bathed and her clothes are changed/washed. Would also like at least bi-weekly updates on behavior (any problems or changes)

[Name removed], the driver and piano player and man about town, went above and beyond in accommodating my dad. My parents really came to rely on him for navigating my dad's transports while he was still using a wheelchair. [Name removed], the business manager, was so patient in helping Dad understand the bill. [Name removed] was just always amazing. Both [Names removed] were the ones whose kindness influenced my mom to choose Atria. [Name removed]was very responsive and always kind to my parents. Dining staff and Cleaning staff went above and beyond in making my parents feel at home during this crazy time. My parents' only real complaint was not enough variety in the menu from week to week, but they had survived on Costco take home for years, so this was a confusing complaint. They loved the soups and desserts; in fact, my dad wanted my mom to ask for the recipe for one of the soups so she could make it for him. She refused because she wasn't 100% committed to returning home. The only improvement I would suggest is an email explaining the cost and what was being waived versus a verbal explaining of it in the initial "booking. " I think if my dad could have seen on "paper" the free days he was getting, he would have been better able to make decisions without anxiety. Nevertheless, [names removed] really took their time to explain everything to all of us, which was much appreciated. They are doing better than I ever expected back at home, but when the day inevitably comes that they need to leave their home, I am pretty sure it will be Atria that they choose. They loved the people (staff and residents), the location, the activities, and the amenities.

The facility was exceptionally clean; even with pets. Once the bistro got the staffing problem worked out, the food was delicious and could serve as a meal most days. It was a hot spot with a great chef when I left in August. There appeared to be a staff problem, particularly in the dining area. Most of the staff working there also seemed very dedicated to Atria and their responsibilities. I would go back if I needed a senior community.

Our experience thus far is definitely a 5! Cleanliness is a 3 out of 5, the restroom on the first floor was in serious need of sweeping and a toilet was in need of service. We especially liked being greeted by staff who seemed to know who we were visiting. Immediate attention was given to us for any request for information or service. Even though we are in IL, staff seems genuinely interested in the resident's health and happiness. The meals are delicious! Hospitality is outstanding, Service is great! There are plenty of ways to be involved within the community. So far, the experience is worth the cost.

Atria Mount Pleasant is a beautiful facility with outstanding support staff, food and activities. The communication with management is not bad, but it is disconnected. There is a lot of tracking people down if you need help, but they are responsive when you get the right person. I'm not sure that I understand the structure here, even after several months. There was no help with the move in process, you have to be pro-active with them. I even suggested they might want to write some move-in instructions for the future. They agreed, but I am sure they never did. Despite that, ask if you need help - they are all very kind and willing - they just seem to lack some organization. We have used both the rehab services from Fox and caregiver services from McCloud. Both of these subcontracted services were excellent and covered by Medicare. I would recommend Atria Mount Pleasant and give it 4 out of 5 stars. I would give it 5 stars, except I think that management is disorganized (again, not bad, just not cohesive).

Very nice facility. Good sales staff. Nice apartments fresh smelling and clean. Director left after a few weeks. Not sure what happened but I really liked him. No perfect situation. Seems like a little short staffed. Staff is very friendly and nice. Just wish there were more of them.

My mom is very happy at the Atria. Not only is it a beautiful facility, but the staff is very kind and friendly. The residents are also very welcoming. The dining room is very good, even though they try get the residents to eat during specific times they seem to forget and my mom says it gets crowded. The staff is continuing to work on it to make it better. My mom has so many things to do all day and participates in the activities, painting, flower arranging, arts and crafts, bingo and two movies a day in the theater. Whenever she needs to go to the doctor they have a town car for her to take her at no extra cost. Several times a week she is assisted with showers and anything she needs. They come and do her laundry every week and return it perfectly folded. She fell one day and had to use her pendant to call for help. They came right away, alerted me (her emergency contact) and the nurses monitored her that day and kept me in the loop. I am very pleased with the treatment and the services at the Atria and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The interaction and communication with the staff is good. The food is terrible. It's often cold, and served buffet style. They are also having staffing issues. They do a great job with the activites. My loved one has a one bedroom with a full kitchen, a den with a nice big window, and the shower bathroom is nice. The closet is small, and there also a washer and dryer. They offer patios for an additonal fee. They offer cleaning once per week. In addition, they are trying to do better and figure things out. The residents are always smiling.

June 19, 2023Hello, Hello, thanks for sharing your comments. We set a high standard for delivering quality services to help our residents thrive, but it sounds like we’ve missed the mark recently. I’ve shared your feedback with the Executive Director and Regional Vice President. I’ve also forwarded your message to our Regional Culinary Director. Activities staff does an outstanding job. Front desk staff are very good but strained (understaffed). Common areas could use some regular vacuuming.
