October 31, 2024Thank you, Linda! We’re thrilled to hear that you feel so at home at The Palms. Our team takes great pride in creating a warm and welcoming environment for our residents, and it’s wonderful to know their efforts have made such a positive impact on your experience. If there’s anything more we can do for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
The value for cost just doesn't work. They charge to much for what you get. The staff was always friendly to me. The food was normally okay. They don't have enough staff to cover the occupants. So, some things didn't get done.

They had issues with kitchen staff but it's improving. An important aspect for us was the ability to use Senior Helpers so my mom could stay in independent living. Also helpful was the option to move into a smaller and more affordable suite once she had transitioned into the residence They offer two independent living options. They are well taken care of and have a separate bedroom with a small open kitchen.

July 17, 2024Thanks for your five-star review and your compliments for the team at The Palms of Mt. Pleasant. We're honored by your feedback and your recommendation.
Too far to exit to take dog out, to access transportation, etc. Swimming pool too small. Apartment nice. I had to provide my own housekeeping because none was available. Meals were nice and on time. Dining room well organized. Staff was not readily apparent.

June 25, 2024Thanks for sharing your thoughts Susan. I am the Executive Director and would welcome sitting down with you to chat about your concerns as your satisfaction is very important to us. Please stop by my office at any time as my door is always open.
I am currently a resident at The Palms of Mt. Pleasant and it has been a good experience overall. I'm here because of the indoor pool aerobics. This is an older facility and it hasn't been kept up very well. Bed bugs were a problem. The present administration seems to be beginning to address all of these issues.

May 8, 2024Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback. Our team is dedicated to addressing resident concerns, as exemplified by the recent enhancements you mentioned. It is wonderful to have you as a resident we look forward to catching you around the pool!
Just overall, the whole experience was not good. The doctor did not come when she was requested twice to check on my father. My father ended up having a stroke in between the time. I called her in the time he got to the hospital and I told her the symptoms he was having and she didn't call me back for like four days.

April 17, 2024Hi. I am the new Executive Director and would welcome the chance to speak with you regarding your experience. Our goal is to always exceed expectations, including with our communication with families. Our talented caregivers work hard to keep families informed, however we can't control when a resident's doctor will visit or get back in touch with a family member. Please contact me at the community at your earliest convenience as I would like to talk to you more about this specific incident.
My mom is currently a resident at The Palms of Mt Pleasant. Most of the staff are friendly. My mother is happy there, but the facility has declined since she moved in and when we need assisted living we will look elsewhere. The Palms is short staffed and has many ongoing facility repairs.

The staff is caring with the residents, as I see so far. The housekeeping is up to par. Every time I go there, the place is clean and orderly. So far, they have kept me informed of my mom's status and how she's been. The move-in process was easy. They tell you what to bring. They provide the bed, nightstand and curio for her clothes. You have to provide pullup briefs. No problem. And the food is great. They provide them with nourishing good quality meals that I would be glad to eat myself.

October 30, 2023Thanks Coleman! We were touched to read that your loved one thought The Palms of Mt. Pleasant feels like a resort, and we appreciate your shout out for our caring team and welcoming community.
Our experience with the Palms has been utter joy. I love that my mother prefers her ringer off so that we do not disturb her many activities. From bingo, to movies, happy hour and church, Mama has found her home. She has the best of friends and doesn't miss a meal. The facility is in need of an overhaul. The promise of a renovation hasn't been fulfilled; however we are hopeful and yet still content at the moment. She has a lovely apartment in independent living that needs work, but we consider it to be charming.

September 6, 2023Thanks for sharing this Teala. Your description of mom leaving her ringer off so as not to be distributed brought a smile to our faces. It is wonderful to read how engaged and happy she is and we appreciate your kind words about life at The Palms.
I would tell others that even though the staff are overworked, they take care of the residents and make sure we have all we need. The staff are always nice, helpful, responsive. So many smiling faces. However, due to a depleted source of willing workers, the kitchen/wait staffs, housekeeping staff, maintenance staff, and medical staff are under-staffed and overworked. There are 3-4 difference sizes and layouts of apartments that residents are able to choose from based off of what you want/need.

July 25, 2023Cindy, thanks for sharing your thoughts on life at The Palms and for your kind words for our team, We take great pride in the care we provide residents, and we are actively looking for talented people to join that team. We're honored that you've made this your home and appreciate your feedback.
I find the staff eager to please and knowledgeable. The meals are good, varied, with many options and great proportions. The Physical Therapy department is awesome. They make my three times a week sessions effective and fun. One of my favorite options is the indoor heated pool (93degree) and the water aerobics. It's such a delight to have my room cleaned and sheets and towels washed once a week. This is a great place! You can participate in their activities as much or as little as you wish. You don't even need a car. Their transportation folks will take you to doctor appointments, grocery stores etc. I'm very pleased with this facility. I know they are striving to get/keep people, but everyone is. I would recommend this facility to others.

We're honored you call The Palms your home and appreciate your recommendation!
The Palms was a nice place to live. The food was above average. Most of the other residents were very pleasant and nice. I found that it was more than what I needed. I'm still able to cook for myself, and live alone I could not afford it. There was an insect problem. There was some spraying done, and though helpful was not enough. I like the camaraderie with the other clients. The friendliness of the staff and the décor of the building.

April 27, 2023Thanks for the five star review Arthur! We are thrilled to hear that you found The Palms of Mt. Pleasant to be an exceptional value in a wonderful location. We strive to provide a great experience for our residents and their families, and we appreciate your recommendation to others.
Good and friendly service. Quick to fix problems. They have good services like barber, podiatrists, PT. Respond to issues well and have many activities to bring the residents together. My father was kind of a stay in his room kind of person, and now he is attending get togethers and meeting friends. They have had some issues like water leakage problems and broken appliances in the dining area which took a long time to fix. They also raised the rent $[removed]after only being there 5 months. It's not perfect, but it's a good place overall. And I would recommend it to other families.

We have lived all over the world and gone to many parties, so we know a bit about parties. The Christmas party for the residents and their families was truly first class from start to finish, top to bottom and side to side! We enjoyed getting our family picture taken. Our family had a fabulous time and we only had to enjoy this wonderful party! We got to be great hosts and did not have to lift a finger for our guests. This is a very big advantage for living here!

Our team loves to hold parties for special events and agree that they went above and beyond this year to make sure everyone has a wonderful time. Happy holidays!
Our tour at Palms of Mt. Pleasant was great. The people seemed great. It was a more affordable option. The facility was just a little run down, and it was farther away from where I live.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
