Our Experience

Pecan Ridge Memory Care is a well designed facility. The staff is experienced with memory care residents. They try their best to engage and stimulate the senior residents. The 2 dining rooms are comfortable and the food seems fresh. There is also a smallish bistro room that we used a few times for private dining with our aunt. Her end of the northeastern hallway corner room was well laid out. The staff was nice, though a bit overworked. Door security was good. Admin young and professional. The spacious lobby entrance is homey. The residents really require memory care as their dementia is very significant. Air purifier use should probably be increased. The staff cares about their patients.

Nice overworked staff.

This is def a memory care center. Its pleasant. They have nice activity people and caregiver staff. The facilies look nice and my aunts room is well situated. More staff and fewer aromas would be nice.

Very please with the transition of my sister from another facility to Pecan Ridge Memory Care. The staff communication is excellent and attentive to our needs. My sister is much more attentive because of the personal attention and the daily activities.

The worst experience for my poor parents!

The facility is totally unorganized and has no business taking care of the elderly! They claim to have schedules for baths/laundry etc. but no one actually oversees that they are followed! My mother went for 2 weeks without a bath. She continually asked caregivers who continually told her they would find someone to bathe her?! My parents' laundry was often times taken, yet lost. My father left this facility without all of his clothing. Lost forever! He was actually sitting in urine drenched pants due to nothing to change him into! My Mom suffered an unbelievable fall that landed her in the ICU overnight, 3 days hospitalization and is now in RHAB! She had a fracured jaw, brain bleed, lost all of her front teetch! They stated that she tripped in her own bedroom...on the carpet? They are severely understaffed! I know this is a problem everywhere at present, but the Director claims that they are fully staffed, bragging that she brought all of them with her!

Daughter

Pecan Ridge was a better value than any other place we looked into. We are paying less than we were paying at a previous facility, but my parents are getting better care. I like that the pricing is all-inclusive. If any changes in care are needed, there are no increases. The building is all one story, which I love. The caregivers are all aware of dementia and therefore able to help people in memory care. My parents are happy there. They love the food. There are a lot of great activities, and the staff make an effort to invite them to join in.

Would've Been a 4.5 But As Of Now 2.5

The common areas are kept clean. It would be nice to see my loved one's cleaned more thoroughly. The dining room and meals are very nice. The community keeps the residents very well entertained. There was an incident where the community dispensed the wrong medication to my loved one, and this caused a major health concern for my loved one. The community is trying to retrain staff and find another full time med tech to to dispense the proper medications to the residents. I've noticed that on the weekends there is less staffing and less oversight of the staff than during the week. I would recommend you visit your loved one on the weekends more often than during the weekdays.

As close to home as being opssible

We went on an extensive search and in the end we went with this community. No other community can fully do what family can do but this place comes as close as possible.. They have activities in the community room where they work with the residents with balloons and more, they also have guest that come in and sing and entertain the residents and more for them to do to stay busy and active. This community is all memory care and that was something that we wanted for our loved one to be able to have that one on one attention.

The Best Move We Made for My Loved One

I would recommend Pecan Ridge to others for their loved ones. The community is smaller with limited resident numbers. The staff are very open and have been able to answer all of my questions about my loved one. It would be nice to know more about the care at the time that it is being done.

Great fit for mom

We chose Pecan Ridge because of the convenient location, it is very clean and newer looking, and it always smells nice when you walk in. We have been very pleased with them. All of the caretakers are so sweet and loving to mother. I would highly recommend to others looking.

Pecan Ridge - A Nice Memory Care Unit

It's a very open and airy environment. There's a lot of natural light. The staff seemed to be very attentive. There were a lot of activities for the residents as well. The room size is pretty average, about what we expected.

Extremely pleased

We have been extremely pleased with the care our Mother has received at Pecan Ridge. All the caregivers, nurses and medical personnel are professional, knowledgeable, and understanding. [Name removed] always responds to questions immediately! She is an amazing organizer and administrator at Pecan Ridge. Activities are a regular part of daily life. However, the individual needs of the resident is paramount. Participation in these activities is optional. Cooking, planting, musical opportunities, games, exercise, and visits with small children from the day care center are a regular part of life at Pecan Ridge. There is a hair stylist who makes regular visits, and we are appreciating the Visiting Physicians option, as well as the podiatrist visit option. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a comfortable, beautiful and friendly home for an aging loved one.

We were very impressed with Pecan Ridge and feel it will be a good fit for Mom. We thought the staff was very visible and caring and the facility is beautiful. It is very close to our house so we are hoping to move forward to getting Mom placed at Pecan Ridge. Rated tour as 5 Star - will need more experience with the facility to rate the overall facilily.

Location Was Not Convient

I only really went to take a look at this community knowing that we were going to place my mom in the sister community that they were building which is closer to me. I did get a good idea as to how the community would be setup the room layout etc because we were told that they don't change from property to property everything mirrors each other which I found helpful. From what I saw the place seemed well maintained and clean I really had no complaints it was just the location that was not convenient for the family.
