Abbotswood at Stonehenge

From the moment you walk into Abbotswood at Stonehenge you will realize what a special place it is. Spend some time and you will confirm your initial feelings. You will see smiling faces and happy residents. The staff is incredibly warm, dedicated, professional, helpful and loving. The administration has rare turnover which says a lot. The dining room and food appeals to almost everyone. The housekeeping staff showcases the cleanliness of the entire facility on a daily basis. Everything looks right, feels right and even smells right. My amazing Mom (passed in Dec. 2022) never found anything to be concerned about. She loved everyone at Abbotswood and they responded in kind. May Abbotswood continue forever and May Ms. GG RIP. Warmly, Mitch

We visited 11 places in the Raleigh area before deciding on Abbotswood for our Mom. The staff made all the difference and our Mom felt like it was "home". The love and compassion and care from the staff helped us walk through years of Mom's health problems and Covid anxiety. The size of the community was just right - not too large like some of the other places that felt like an impersonal hotel. The opportunities to have doctor's care, nurse on call, and Physical Therapy in Mom's room was so helpful. There were always plenty of fun activities to enjoy fellowship with other residents.

Our father was a man who was strong & wise. But as he aged & after mom passed, he began making poor decisions. We made the decision to seek a new living situation for him. We called Abbotswood. From the first phone call onward we felt encouraged & understood. It was a very personal experience with lots of empathy and lots of dignity shown for my dad. Everyone showed him respect and encouragement. My dad could be a bit, ahem, crabby at times but mostly driven by his declining independence. From his therapists who even helped him get organized to do his taxes, to the dining room coordinator who strategically placed him at a table with men he would enjoy conversation with to residents relations who helped him with every piece of technology...they were all wonderful. Sadly my dad passed away so it's taken a while to write this. However, in his final days, we knew he was safe and cared for while he was getting to maintain his independence. Highly highly recommend Abbotswood.

Abbotswood at Stonehenge has provided an exceptional independent living experience for my mother for 9 years. The staff are all so caring and are always working to provide the best community atmosphere. While I was concerned about her transitioning from her house of 50+ years, the apartment at Abbotswood was exactly right and immediately became her home. The location in north Raleigh is near shopping, entertainment, and medical facilities.

My father lived at Abbotswood for nearly 3 years until he passed away. The staff at Abbotswood really cared about the residents and my father's time there was great - he made friends and I was always able to visit him and see what good place it was for him.

My mother, [name removed] , recently had an issue in her apartment that left her displaced for a short period. [Names removed] went above and beyond in every way to make sure she was taken care of. [Names removed] both went out of their way even when they weren't working to take her medications and to follow up with her. Their level of care and true compassion for their work and the residents is very rare and extremely appreciated. Thank you for everything you did for my mother and for our family to help us during that difficult time!

Very friendly, well run community. Nice location to shopping. The staff here are very well trained to have this community run smoothly. The leader is well trained and very helpful and friendly. The apartments are well equipped and nice size. Maintenance is always ready to help when needed.

Of the other senior places I visit, this is the best deal I have found

In my 5 months living here, I am happy with the life, activities, and knowing more people.

I haven't lived here long enough to give a rating of great (approx 6 mo), but it is far beyond my expectations.

After looking at possibilities for senior care, I judged Abbotswood to be an outstanding retirement center. Nearly 2 years later I continue to rate it thus. In particular, is the good nature and friendly support of the residents from staff.

I have lived here only a few months. My family live out of this community and town

Words along cannot express how wonderful Abbotswood at Stonehenge is. The administrative staff is so warm, friendly and helpful 24/7. The mainenance staff, housekeeping staff, dining staff, and of course administrative staff I rate a 10. The Chef and kitchen staff are very good. They try to please everyone. The menus are excellent. However I rate number 9 always room for improvement. I am so happy that I reside at Abbotswood at Stonehenge.

This is my home!! I have lived here since Sept 2016 and made many life long friends. The staff here is wonderful making sure everyone os well taken care of, planning trips that are interesting and fun, spending time with you dingfing out what we need or would like to do, special programs, music, social hours. Too much to name here. I always say if you can't be happy, at Abbotswood, you can't be happy anywhere!

I am so glad I came here to live in June 2016. I love my apt and portch and have made many friends here. The staff is very good and friendly to each of us. My daughter, [name removed] who lives in Raleigh is happy for me also.

Lovely - 8.5 years in residence says it all - more years to come.
