Residential Care Home
Our father required 24 hr care and the finding a residential board & care facility is difficult. Blessings has truly been a blessing to our family! The staff truly cares for the residents as their own family While providing a place that is safe, clean and friendly,
This is a very nice place with very good care for the residents. I really like the staff at this community. The tour was great and they were able to show me everything that I needed and give me all of the information that I needed.
It was just divine timing that a spot had opened up there just before I was able to look at facilities. It was the first place we saw and it just felt completely right. Nothing has changed from that initial impression for any of us- it is clean, warm, and friendly. The residents are very well cared for. [Removed] are really sweet people to work with. I did not learn about it from the internet nor did I look online for reviews. I personally spoke by phone with a few family members of previous and current residents, and they were all very positive.

Planning ahead can better position you to make good choices for your loved one’s care in the future. But if your aging family member needs care now, there are ways to finance the cost of long-term care through a combination of approaches.
Residential care homes are houses in residential neighborhoods that are equipped, adapted, and staffed to care for a small number of residents, usually between two and 10. Like assisted living communities, staff at care homes typically help residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and medication management. Although residential care homes vary significantly depending on the community, services usually include:
Welcome to “Surf City, USA,” where miles of sandy beaches, famous seaside diners and surf shops, and both natural and man-made wonders combine to create a vibrant coastal community perfectly suited for an ideal retirement.
In Huntington Beach, residential care homes — sometimes called care homes, board and care homes, group homes, or personal care homes — are often houses in residential neighborhoods that are adapted, equipped, and staffed to care for a small number of residents, usually 10 or less. Similar to assisted living but in a smaller, more residential setting, these homes provide supervision, organized events, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). This means care homes can help with everyday routines but typically do not provide 24-hour skilled nursing assistance.
The median monthly cost for a room in a care home is around $4,000 in Huntington Beach and about $3,500 in the state of California. However, the cost of living in a care home depends largely on location. Since the homes are private residences, costs are tied to real estate value and therefore may vary greatly.
The total household expenses associated with living in Huntington Beach are rated eight points above the national average. Grocery and other essential costs are rated slightly above average, as well.

With its signature ocean swells, miles of public beaches, and the International Surfing Museum, Huntington Beach rightfully secured “Surf City, USA” as its official nickname in 2006. This coastal Orange County town is relatively serene compared to the sprawling metropolis of Los Angeles to the north and is home to several popular throwbacks that transport visitors to bygone eras.
The heart of Huntington Beach is undoubtedly the area around the intersection of Main Street and the Pacific Coast Highway, where downtown meets the sandy shoreline that gives the city its name. Here you’ll find plenty of tropical restaurants, seaside bars, surf shops, a weekly farmers market, ocean-view hotels and apartments, plus the Huntington Beach Bike Trail which runs along the coast for miles in either direction. This is also where the historic Huntington Beach Pier — featuring the 1940s-era Ruby’s Diner — juts out into the Pacific toward Santa Catalina Island.
There’s more to Huntington Beach than surfboards, though. About three miles up the coast from downtown are the Bolsa Chica State Beach and Ecological Reserve, ideal destinations for camping, fishing, and birdwatching. Huntington Harbour, just inland from the PCH, is a planned community consisting of five man-made islands with waterways in between each residential section. Back toward the center of town is Huntington Central Park, which comprises more than 350 acres of greenspace and contains several walking trails and ponds, plus a nature center, library, bandstand, lakeside cafe, equestrian center, disc golf course, and senior center with a wide range of activities and services designed specifically for older residents and retirees. Other unique attractions within Huntington Beach include time warps like the late-1800s Newland House Museum — the city’s oldest residence — and the Old World Village, a quaint shopping district built to evoke Germany of centuries past, where you can roam the lantern-lit cobblestone streets, browse novelty shops, try some Bavarian bratwurst or other cuisines from around the globe, and join the annual Oktoberfest celebrations.
Transportation
Public transportation in Huntington Beach is available via the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), which provides nine bus routes in Huntington Beach. The city also promotes safe travel zones for walkers and bicyclists. Huntington Beach’s “Seniors on the Go” program, specifically for residents 60 and above, allows riders to schedule transportation directly from their preferred pickup location to their destination — whether it’s a medical appointment, a shopping district, or senior center.
