I believe they are short staffed . There are only 2 official aides four 4 residents. One of them is already a senior citizen herself (probably in her 70s) and not capable of caring for residents adequately. The food could also be greatly improved and activities to stimulate the residents are non-existent, (besides one old television that stays on in the main common area at all times) . They do keep the residents safe and my family member has made great friendships there with the other residents. The owner and 3 other residents are wonderful people, with the exception of the elderly aide who nobody seems to like because she can be a bully with the residents.

I toured this home and an affiliated Maureen Guest home. I would say that I liked the home on Maureen a little bit more than the Melba home. Ultimately, I don't feel mom will like it here. I believe there will be a language barrier between mom and the caretakers otherwise I was not totally opposed to mom going here.

They took care of my aunt in the nineties and my mother until May when no one else could handle her yelling an danger.I am 2000miles away and whenever I called she was within arms reach.
