My mom had been there for a month, And they have been great for my mom, They take care of all my mom needs 24/7. Great staff. I am able to see my mom during the day and mornings, If my mom has Dr appointment they have her ready, Also they have no problem with me having lunch with her or do video call with family members.

When we do get to visit our loved one she seems really happy with the activities. The cleanliness of the community and the fact that it is in a residential area was something we really liked. They really strive on detail, they call us about our loved ones appointments and nay medication updates. They are very welcoming and we can call them anytime and there is always someone there to answer.

Arcadia Home Care I in Bakersfield, CA
4.8

Arcadia home has been a perfect place for my parents once they were no longer safe in their own home. My parents, who have been married for almost 73 years, have been able to remain together in the master suite, with a beautiful large sunny room with private sitting area, fireplace and TV, and private bath with large walk-in closet. This has helped with the transition of moving from their own home. While it has been difficult for my parents at times adjusting to not being in their home of 50+ years, the staff at Arcadia have been extremely compassionate and caring, treating my parents with respect and dignity and enabling them to remain together as long as possible. The home and yard are beautifully kept and the location is in a very nice neighborhood. I especially like that there are outdoor sitting areas in the back yard and side yard, as my parents have always enjoyed sitting out in nice weather. My sister and I have been very pleased with the excellent care and service that my parents receive at Arcadia home.

What are care homes?

Residential care homes are houses in residential neighborhoods that are equipped, adapted, and staffed to care for a small number of residents, usually between two and 10. Like assisted living communities, staff at care homes typically help residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and medication management. Although residential care homes vary significantly depending on the community, services usually include:

  • Help with personal care
  • Medication management
  • Mobility assistance
  • Nutritious meals
  • Social activities and outings
  • Housekeeping
  • Laundry

Learn More about Personal Care Homes in Bakersfield, CA

Residential care homes — sometimes called care homes, board and care homes, group homes, or personal care homes — are often houses in residential neighborhoods that are adapted, equipped, and staffed to care for a small number of residents, usually 10 or less. Similar to assisted living but in a smaller, more residential setting, these homes provide supervision, organized events, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). This means care homes can help with everyday routines but typically do not provide 24-hour skilled nursing assistance.
