Assisted Living
What stands out about this facility is how good the staff is to my mother and how she has adjusted better than I thought she would and it's because they are so good to her and how they check on her even through the night. Housekeeping does a good job and the facility is very well kept.
My mother has been living in Caring Hands about a year. We looked at the institutions in the Kingwood area, and found this small, residential care home to be much better. It recently changed ownership, but most of the staff is stable, and they are spending money to upgrade the facility. The wife of the couple is a registered nurse, and monitors the healthcare closely. We've always found the cleanliness to be exceptional, the food seems freshly prepared, and the care for my mother has been great so far. Because it's small with only about 15 residents, they can provide a more personal touch. I highly recommend this place.
I am very impressed with this facility and I really liked the philosophy they have. They don’t want their community to feel like a clinical setting and more like a residential home. The staff members here are all very sweet and nice however they do have some difficulties keeping them. It seems like they are very young and not as professional. They don’t show up when they’re supposed to but the manager has been outstanding in dealing with this. She never drops the ball and even works as many hours as she can to help out. The food is okay here but my Mother is not used to eating a hot large meal for lunch and a sandwich for dinner. The only thing I can really say I don’t like is they need pay more attention in grouping the residents with the same intellectual levels. I would recommend this facility to other families.
