Before a resident is accepted, they must go through a service plan screening to ensure their needs are going to be met. This screening includes a number of areas of interest such as assistance with ADLs for the resident, dietary needs, recreational and social activities that are suitable, desirable, and important to the resident s well-being, and assessing the extent of residents problems and needs. Public assistance is available through Medicaid State Plan.. Staff members receive training in a number of fields. These include: procedures for checking and recording vital signs, occupational safety and health administration standards regarding blood-borne pathogens, Care of persons specific to the physical/mental condition being cared for in the community, and Basic first-aid. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include staff may self administer medications under licensed staff supervision, monitor blood sugar levels, and administer routine medications. In total, there can be no more than 3 residents to a room. There must be one bath or shower for every 1 residents and one toilet for every 1 residents.
