Public assistance is available through 1915(b)(c) MLTC program. This community has a number of provisions concerning food and diet which include meals must be adapted to residents physical abilities , meals must be adapted to residents preferences, the community must provide a variety of regular meals that meet the nutritional needs of residents, and meals must be adapted to residents’ food habits. Staff members receive education in a number of areas. These include: 12 hours of continuing education every 2 years on topics related to assisted living, emergency evacuation, reporting incidents, and resident behavior and needs. This community type has a number of provisions pertaining to medication assistance. These provisions include licensed nursing staff may administer medications, placing an oral dosage in the resident’s hand, and staff may take previously dispensed, properly labeled containers from where they are stored and bringing them to the resident. There must be one bath or shower for every 1 residents and one toilet for every 1 residents.
