The Plaza at Clover Lake in Carmel, NY

Mom seems to be doing well here. She has settled in nicely. She does what activities she can due to her dementia. As far as I know, she likes the food I haven't heard any complaints about it. The staff has been friendly and good-natured very professional. The community appears clean and well maintained.

Mountain Valley Manor in Kingston, NY
4.2

The owners aren't very friendly. I believe they are short staffed. I asked how much it would cost for more assistance for my loved one due to a medical condition. There are times where my loved one will have bed sores due to wet conditions. The community didn't even do a virtual visit for a doctor during COVID with the multiple medical conditions my loved one had. It is a good place, clean, and the community is nice. It is easy for my loved one to get along with her walker. The head nurse is controlling and doesn't delegate because she doesn't think anyone will do the job correctly. There is a lack of communication about things that have happened. They are starting to allow visits in the courtyard, but I didn't find out about this until a friend told me about it. My friend found about it on Facebook. My mother hasn't seen the hairdresser since February. The community still doesn't have their hairdresser back. I've made the decision to bring my mother home. The community did ask if there was anything they could do to help my mother when they found out she was leaving.

Vassar-Warner Home in Poughkeepsie, NY
4.9

My mother is currently a resident at Vassar-Warner Home. I cannot say enough wonderful things! It is a warm and caring environment. The staff is nothing short of amazing. They are so responsive to any of my mother's needs, all she has to do is ask. They are very good at communicating with me, which is very important as I live in a different state. My emails are responded to very quickly and phone calls are returned promptly. I highly recommend Vassar-Warner Home to anyone looking for an assisted living facility.

I would say that it's a good place and my mom is happy there. I would mention the food is good, but the delivery is lacking thought management is aware and working on it.
