The care is very good. Staff are very patient with residents. The staff takes the time to understand the loved ones needs. As an out of state daughter, anytime I called to talk to my dad, the staff would get him to talk to me. I thought that was great. Thank you so much for caring for my dad!

I placed my mother at Belmont Village, as she could not manage on her own at home after hospital and rehab visit. The entire staff was warm and welcoming !! They did everything possible to accommodate my mother in just a few days. The nurses and caregivers were consistently professional, warm and helpful. The residents were friendly and the facility clean and welcoming. The food is great !! I’ve always felt assured when visiting my mother and she was making new friends !!

My husband has been in residence for one year and I have been there almost every night to sit with him and put him to bed. For the last 11 weeks I have not been able to be with him and at first I thought know one could take my place. I do Skype him twice a day and he is very happy. I watch the back images and I see the wonderful staff showing love to the men and women in their care. They have done things they have never done before, like cutting hair, and I must say doing a very good job. The live music is still a big part and is happening due to technology. This is a loving place and also a happy place. They do not sit around all day but are active and having fun. They are safe due to the caring staff. We are kept up every night with the activities and are kept informed of their health situation. Thank you to all the loving staff.

Arts, Culture, Entertainment, and Recreation

A booming southeastern suburb of Phoenix, Gilbert was home to only a few thousand residents in the 1980s but now boasts a population of over 250,000. This rural Arizona town once nicknamed “The Hay Shipping Capital of the World” consistently ranks as one of the best places in the U.S. for families to call home, thanks to its housing availability, top-rated schools, access to nature, thriving downtown area, and overall safety.

Downtown Gilbert, also called the Heritage District, continues to entice more and more visitors each year with a wide range of restaurants — everything from pizza to BBQ to Mexican, plus sports bars, a speakeasy, an ice cream parlor, and a historic grocery store reimagined as a cafe — along with art galleries, antique stores, and gift shops. The Hale Centre Theatre hosts live productions throughout the year and remains popular for audience members of all ages. In the heart of the Heritage District is Water Tower Plaza, a public greenspace with a splash park for kids that’s conveniently located across the street from the weekly Gilbert Farmers Market.

As Gilbert developed over the past few decades, the city stayed current and added plenty of attractions for its new citizens — always keeping in mind the gorgeous scenery, low humidity, and year-round warm temperatures of southern Arizona. The SanTan Village outdoor mall opened in 2007 and continues expanding with dining spots, big-box stores, apartments, hotels, and a multiscreen movie theater. Freestone Park comprises 88 acres and features fishing lakes, playgrounds, tennis courts, softball fields, a recreation center, an amphitheater, and a small amusement park with train rides and a carousel. Of course, tee times are in high demand throughout the Phoenix area, and one of Gilbert’s sporting and social hubs is Western Skies Golf Club, a public course with piñon-lined fairways and ideal mountain views.

Valley Metro has several bus routes in Gilbert and offers reduced fares for seniors and others who qualify. The Dial-a-Ride program, specifically for seniors and residents with limited mobility, allows riders to schedule transportation directly from their preferred pickup location to their destination.
