My father spent the last 2 years of his life at Abode Care of Monroeville. The administration & care takers were very attentive to my father's needs. The staff always commented on how much they "loved" caring for him. He was very fond of them as well. Any requests that I had for my father were met without delay or complaint. Everyone was willing to do whatever I asked for my father. Some of the staff would even leave the facility to go to the store or the pharmacy to pick up a snack or medications for him if I couldn't get there in a timely fashion. The facility was always clean & tidy. There was never an odor of the typical "personal care home." When my father seemed to be nearing the end, the staff of Abode recommended Monarch Hospice. It was the best decision that I ever made. Abode staff & Monarch Hospice worked together to make the last days of my father's life a very comfortable & dignified one. Older brother has been there since April of this year and he is very positive about his experience there so far. They manage his medications meticulously and that has been very important. The staff is very friendly and available. They really care for their constituents.

Barnes is not inexpensive. Hopefully we can keep Mom in there all her days. Clean and inviting is my 1st thought. My Mom has limited mobility, and that fits in at Barnes.
