Wonderful facility but out of my price range.

I moved into The Mansions at Sandy Springs on Feb 20, 2015. As with any move into a new residence there have been a few minor "bumps", but the staff are quick to get these corrected. The staff from custodians, kitchen, office and director are friendly and helpful. The food is good and seasoned appropriately, (not bland) and they have made extra efforts to accommodate my slightly flexible/vegetarian lifestyle. I highly recommend The Mansions at Sandy Springs, Ga.

It's an excellent spot, I would rate them very highly. They are very attentive, and understand the independent living and retirement crowd very well.

Appears to be excellent value for 1 and 2 bedroom units. Jan Robb extremely gracious and most helpful. Brand new, floor plans very attractive, especially 730 sq ft unit.

Personally, I feel safe here. Once we can really come and go as we please and have family do the same, I think it will be a lot better than it is right now. Just like everybody else, there's been a lot shut down due to Covid. The food is okay, I just prefer my own. I'm finding that the things that I need are close by, and it's a good central location. I have a 2-bedroom apartment, and I love the rooms, - they're very nice sized. It seems like the rooms were a lot smaller at other places.

My Mom had been living here since about June 2017 and she absolutely loves it here. She was one that fought to stay in her home that she could no longer manage, and it was a safety hazard for her. Her first night in her new place and that all changed for. She’s made a ton of new friends, enjoys the many activities, and is very fond of the staff. Maybe your reluctant loved one can read this review and see the blessing this was for MY 84 year old Mom!

The food is ridiculous here. They will get a good cook and then they fire them . If it wasn't for the inconsistency of the cooking and the cooks changing every other week it would a great place to eat at. The food is the biggest problem with the cooks changing all the time .

The place seems very clean, new, fresh and friendly staff. The residents seem friendly and healthier than other homes we visited. Lots of activities. My loved one is not happy with food.

Great people, my dad is independent but has some memory challenges and could use more frequent reminders about things that are not routine until he learns them more.(Like how to use the transportation)

The facility is very nice-bright and cheery. Problems have been minor and attended to promptly. Residents all very friendly and welcoming. There is an association of the residents who have monthly meetings to discuss any issues. Food is a 7 on a scale of 1-10, generously served w varied options between fish and meat. Staff helpful and pleasant. Lots of activities for fun and exercise. Only been here 10 days so not totally sure that the monthly rent isn't too much because it is pricey but overall I am happy w the conditions and the service

In general, the staff is very nice. However, the staff doesn't return calls. There are no nursing services available to use a la carte for Independent Living. The all around nursing care changed (Med providers changed). They don't have anyone on contract that currently supports sharing of services for medication distribution. We were sold on this. We were also advised of a Podiatrist on site every other month and that doesn't exist right now either. There is a lack of transportation support, transportation was one of the reasons we chose this facility. As far as the food, it's good but my loved one is picky. When he's ordered a specific sandwich for his taste, the staff has given it to another resident.

This community is very comfortable. I like most of the activities and entertainment. The food is exceptional, especially the breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My apartment is very nice!
The apartment size is very good and I enjoy the activities and entertainment. I appreciate getting to go to a church service in the building. Some other things I especially like: washer/dryer in the apt, hair dresser in building and provided meals, the food has been better since we got a new chef. The only negative is the increasing expense of staying here :)
Friendly place, my aunt has lived here around 3 years. Covid kinda made it a bit tough for visiting for a bit, but the staff here you couldn't ask for better. They kept everyone as safe and healthy as allowed. So thankful for this. I have enjoyed visiting my aunt now but safe guards still in place. I had looked at other places for her and we both agreed there was not a better place than this. There is and was a few things that came up but have and were addressed quickly and fixed. My aunt loves it here and has friends she loves. My hat goes off to [name removed] and staff for all they do.
Lived her 18 months, and was happy with living here.
Hefner Mansions was my second choice. After touring it seemed like they offered a lot and I liked what I saw.
I really liked Southwest Mansions, they seemed to offer a lot of great amenities.
Called and went on tour on 10/13. It's a beautiful place. The apartments are really nice and property is well-maintained, and food is excellent, and each apartment has it's own patio. Only apartments available are 1 and 2-bdrm, and there is a pretty long waiting list, and you have to pay [fee removed] to get on the list! Also, if you need to use a power chair, there's a [fee removed] non-refundable fee, along with having to maintain [fee removed] Personal Injury policy! There's also [fee removed] for background check and [fee removed] community fee, non-refundable. Rates are fairly high, but you get what you pay for. Also, only senior independent living, no aging in place or assisted living amenities on site. All-in-all very nice, but I need the 'age-in-place' options EDIT 7/2021 - decided I am okay with their off-campus, unassociated group that can provide basic help "if needed" with sowers, medications, etc. Right now I don't need those things, but in future I might (I'm 72).

I have lived at the Mansions of Alpharetta for a little over four years and have not regretted for a minute my choice to live here. The apartments are large and very comfortable. Yes, we have had some problems with the food, but the executive and kitchen staff are willing to listen to us and make improvements. We are like a family here and we genuinely care for one another. The activities are varied and there is always something for you to do if you wish! This is a great place to call “home” and I would not want to live anywhere else! Come visit and make the decision to be a part of our community! You won’t regret it!
