Hidden Springs Senior Living in Bentonville, VA

My husband and I are both residents. He was transferred to their medical unit. This is in the same building so I am able to visit him at any time. A safety feature for all residents is to wear a call button. I have pushed my button at 2am and whoever is working has responded quickly.

The Warren in Woodstock, VA
4.3 / 5.0

We would recommend The Warren to others. The staff is wonderful with communicating with the family and keeping us informed about how Dad is doing and involving us, as much as we want to be, in his care.

The Maynard in Strasburg, VA
5.0 / 5.0

I do love the place she's in and the people who care for her. I pop in at all hours of the day and night. As far as the Value for the money I don't know that there is a correct number. You expect a certain level of care regardless of the cost. Everything we pay for has earned a 5 and we pay for that, no matter how. Good care is priceless.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is an establishment that houses two or more seniors who have no familial relation to the administrator. This type of facility offers its residents 24-hour care by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide health related services for people who are unable to properly take care of themselves.

This type of facility is a convenient and comfortable living choice for individuals 65 years and above, however nursing homes will routinely allow persons 55 and older (a rarity in the realm of senior care).Often times seniors might select to live in a nursing home over another type of facility due to a mental or physical impairment that makes it difficult for them to accomplish the activities of daily living. The most frequent mental issue effecting nursing home residents is dementia, which can hinder their memory recall, and their sense of familiarity, and decision making abilities. Types of care services and amenitiesprovided at nursing homes can include monitoring serious illness and unstable health status, wound care for pressure sores or a surgical wound, monitoring of medication, and patient and caregiver education. Some services come at an extra cost which can include personal clothing, specially prepared food, and special care services not included in the facility’s Medicaid payment. A significant amount of inhabitants tend to be single women who have smaller social support groups, and almost fifty percent of nursing home residents are over the age of 85.
