The Bridges At Edinburg

I just can't say enough good things about Bridges. They have taken good care of my mom and they are on top of things. She had a fall before coming here and since coming here has been improving. They are located conveniently for our family and they are really just a great community from top to bottom. They are very accommodating and will allow you to stay after hours if it makes you feel more comfortable. I am very pleased with them and would recommend them to anyone.

Waterford Gardens on Griffin Parkway in Mission, TX
4.7

We were on a little bit of a time crunch but we found the garden area and outdoor area with Waterford Gardens to be a big plus for us. The rooms are a little on the smaller side and we have to wear a mask, but when we are outside we do not have to. The staff and chef have been able to keep our loved ones blood sugar at the correct level which we have not been able to do for years so for that the chef is very good. The activities are little iffy and everything is expensive these days but overall it is a good value.

The Gardens at Brook Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care in Pharr, TX

For cleanliness - there was broken glass in the corner of his room from when he knocked over his lamp and it broke. It was only by the bed that was vacuumed up. For meals, I had to finally ask for dad, to be moved to another table where the people would talk to him. Then it was fine. There was always activities and parties and decoration themes, but dad did not want to go to anything. He was asked be always said no. " He wanted to be at home". The cost was affordable for us! Dad just did not want to stay there, he was [profanity removed] bent on coming home.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is a complex that offers housing to two or more individuals who have no personal relation to the administrator. A nursing home facility offers its inhabitants 24-hour care by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide healthcare services for seniors who cannot properly care for their needs because of the effects of aging.

This type of facility is a helpful and comfy care option for individuals 65 years and above, however nursing homes will routinely admit individuals 55 and older which is unusual for other senior care types.A large number of inhabitants are bachelors or widows with circles of support, and about fifty percent of nursing home residents are older than the age of 85. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be free from restraints, to manage your money, be treated with respect, and participate in activities. Examples of amenities and servicesoffered at nursing homes can include room and board, monitoring of medication, personal care (including dressing, bathing, and toilet assistance), and bill pay. The most frequent mental disease effecting nursing home residents is dementia, which can hinder their and their sense of familiarity, memory recall, and decision making abilities. Nursing homes are required to provide a professionallly directed program of activities, routine personal hygiene items, specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), and room and bed maintenance services to residents.
