Carolina Reserve of Laurel Park in Hendersonville, NC

I would highly recommend this community. For the money and cost they are the best community around this area for your loved ones. They have activities like games, movie night, church services and more for the residents.

Marjorie McCune Memorial Center in Black Mountain, NC
4.0 / 5.0

My brother did not have a good experience in his stay at this community. They had him in one room when he moved in and then they changed his room the next day. When I inquired as to why they said they try to have them with a roommate they are compatible with. When they moved him into the new room he did not get along with his roommate and due to issues with him and the staff not assisting he is no longer living at this community.

Pacifica Senior Living Heritage Hills in Hendersonville, NC

I love it here. The only issue I have with Pacifica is... their accounting office makes mistakes and takes too long to fix them. I recommend this community.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home facility offers residence to at least two persons who have no personal ties to the administrator. A nursing home facility offers its occupants around-the-clock care administered by on-site nurses. These caregivers offer health related services for those who cannot care for themselves.

Nursing homes can be a helpful and easy care choice for individuals 65 years or older, however nursing homes will frequently take in individuals 55 and older which is uncommon for other senior care types.Often times seniors may decide life in a nursing home over another type of facility due to a mental or physical condition that makes it difficult for them to accomplish their standard of living. Nursing homes are required to provide medically-related social services, room and bed maintenance services, routine personal hygiene items, and dietary services to residents. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to get information on services and fees, participate in activities, spend time with visitors, and have protections against involuntary transfer or discharge. The most frequent mental condition effecting nursing home residents is dementia, which can cloud their and their sense of familiarity, decision making abilities, and memory recall. Many occupants of nursing homes may have behavioral problems, which can consist of resisting care, a tendency to wander, or verbal outbursts.
