Providence Assisted Living of Senatobia

The size of this facility is manageable. My aunt really enjoys the beauty shop they have on site. My aunt does not participate in activities. I have witnessed bingo and a very sweet singing in the chapel. I have been able to resolve any issue I may have with a call or text . They have a very nice maintenance person that has gone out of his way to help us also. It just has a hometown flair to it.

They run specials occasionally. They have some long tenured staff. They communicate to the families about events and updates on the residents. Chef that prepares the meals. They do off site trips for meals, bowling and other things. Have access to medicine being provided to the residents through a 3rd party and medical care on site. Overall, it has been a blessing having my dad there.

The foyer of the facility is very homey and is always bustling with energy. The staff makes a great effort in getting to know the residents and their individual personalities and needs. They also welcome family and encourage participation from family in all the events. It's not the most modern of places but it's very comfortable and feels like home for my dad.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home provides room and board to two or more individuals who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. A nursing home facility offers its residents around-the-clock care by on-site nurses. These caregivers offer maintenance, personal care and other health related services for seniors who cannot adequately care for their own needs due to the effects of aging.

Nursing homes are a familiar and comfy living alternative for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will routinely accept individuals 55 and older which is unusual for other senior care types.A significant amount of inhabitants tend to be bachelors or widows with circles of support, and almost half of nursing home residents are over 85 years old. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to participate in activities, be free from abuse and neglect, be free from restraints, and to manage your money. The most frequent mental disease experienced by nursing home residents is dementia, which can cloud their decision making abilities, memory function, and and their sense of familiarity. Many occupants of nursing homes are persons with behavioral issues, which can consist of a tendency to wander, verbal outbursts, or resisting care. Some services come at an extra cost which can include flowers and plants, personal comfort items, and specially prepared food.
