Eddy Memory Care at Eddy Hawthorne Ridge in East Greenbush, NY

I've been very happy with the care my mom received at Hawthorne Ridge. Specifically, you kept her safe. I know too well how devastating the past 20 months have been and was impressed with the hard work of the team there. You've done a remarkable job.

They are really perfect. They are trying to accomodate my loved one, who loves the breakfast. They have plenty of activites. The value for the money is worth it, and it gives me a peace of mind. I saw the community before, and had the opportunity to tour the place, and it was a nice place. I was able to get my loved one in there quickly. The staff is amazing.

Wingate Residences at Melbourne Place in Pittsfield, MA

We are very happy with Wingate. The staff members make a point of knowing everyone's name immediately on arrival, which is really comforting. The activities are great, varied and interesting. The meals are good but could use a bit of an update. Fresh vegetables and grains for example. It's been a very positive experience and my mother is happy.

I would recommend them. They have a good community. We picked this community because, she liked it better. The other places were a little stuffy. The staff are very friendly and courteous.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home community offers room and board to at least two seniors who have no family relation to the administrator. This type of community provides its inhabitants with around-the-clock care by on-site nurses. These nurses provide healthcare services for people who are unable to properly care for themselves.

This type of community is a familiar and comfortable care alternative for individuals 65 years or older, however nursing homes will often accept individuals 55 and greater rarely heard of in senior care regarding other care types. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to get proper medical care, exercise your rights as a U.S. citizen, make complaints, and form or participate in resident groups. A significant portion of nursing home residents are seniors who experience difficulty with vision and hearing, have incontinence issues, have mental or physical disabilities, or require assistance with daily tasks such as getting dressed. A significant amount of residents tend to be single women with less social support, and almost fifty percent of nursing home residents are older than the age of 85. Types of amenities and services provided at nursing homes might include personal care (including dressing, bathing, and toilet assistance), care coordination and case management, help with legal questions, and monitoring of medication. Many residents of nursing homes are individuals with behavioral problems, which can consist of verbal lash-outs, resisting assistance, or an inclination to wander.
