My brother signed on the dotted line because of the cost. But he stays there because of the administrator and the staff. They make sure that he gets the medical care he needs and takes him to his appointments and check in on him everyday to make sure that he gets what he needs. You have to be buzzed in to get into the facility and you have to have a mask and your temperature is taken.
We chose The Arbors & Terrace of Ruston because I knew a few people that worked here and we know several of the people that live here as well. When we visited for our tour it was just a no brainer for my parents, they loved it right away. The apartments are a really good size, we were able to fit a lot of their furniture. The staff and care has been wonderful. They have plenty of activities going on. I would absolutely recommend them to others.
I really like living here. The management is nice in fact they're all great. The employees are nice and friendly. It's just a nice place to be.

Nursing homes, also called skilled nursing facilities, provide long-term care for seniors with significant physical or mental health conditions, and short-term care to people recovering from an injury or hospital stay. Nursing homes provide personal assistance and medical care from licensed professionals. Services in skilled nursing facilities often include:
A nursing home offers room and board to at least two persons who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. A nursing home community provides its residents with around-the-clock care administered by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide health related services for seniors who are unable to adequately take care of themselves because of the effects of aging.
Nursing homes are a convenient and easy care choice for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will routinely take in persons 55 and greater (a rarity in the world of senior care). As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to participate in activities, form or participate in resident groups, be free from restraints, and spend time with visitors. Nursing homes are required to provide a professionallly directed program of activities, specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), dietary services, and emergency dental services to residents. Types of amenities and services offered at nursing homes might include care coordination and case management, help with shopping and transportation, meal programs, and patient and caregiver education. A significant amount of occupants tend to be single women with circles of support, and almost 50% of nursing home residents are older than the age of 85. The most common mental issue experienced by residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can cloud their and their sense of familiarity with their surroundings, decision making abilities, and memory recall.
