Cooper Trail Senior Living in Bardstown, KY
5.0

The staff are very helpful and friendly. They have activities they do with the residents. I could not ask for any better care for my mother. I definitely would recommend Cooper Trail to anyone looking for assisted living or for memory care.

Bluegrass Assisted Living -Bardstown
3.9

These ratings were for someone with advancing dementia (w/ varying agitation) and advanced incontinence so those factors should be taken into account for our situation. All staff workers that we encountered were helpful and very cooperative. We found BGAL to be better than our experiences with Signature Healthcare personnel overall for sure, and there was the occasional caring attendant at Signature Healthcare but enough less than cordial personnel to be disappointed with that facility.

Inspirations of Mount Washington
5.0

Our Mom was a resident for 3 years. I cannot say enough great things about Inspirations. The staff was absolutely amazing! They became family to Mom and to us. Mom became very ill and we thought she would have to go to a nursing home but Inspirations said that we could bring her there and we could stay with her as long as we needed to. They blessed us with 2 wonderful months for our precious Mom. They not only took care of Mom, they also made sure her family had everything they needed every day. They fed us 3 meals a day and made sure we had anything we needed. Sadly we lost our Mom to cancer but Inspirations gave us precious memories with Mom before she passed. It's memories we will never forget and we are so so thankful for Inspirations. I recommend this facility so highly. They are wonderful!

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is a community that houses two or more persons who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its occupants around-the-clock care by registered nurses. These nurses offer specialized care for seniors who cannot take care of their own needs due to the effects of aging.

This type of community is a helpful and comfortable care option for individuals 65 years or older, however nursing homes will usually accept individuals 55 and older infrequently heard of in senior care regarding alternate care types. A significant amount of residents tend to be bachelors or widows with circles of support, and almost fifty percent of nursing home residents are over the age of 85. Examples of amenities and services provided at nursing homes might include injections, skilled nursing or medical care, room and board, and rehabilitation needed due to injury, disability, or illness. Many residents of nursing homes might have behavioral troubles. These can consist of resisting assistance, a tendency to wander, or verbal outbursts. The most common mental disease experienced by residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can cloud their decision making capacities, and familiarity, and memory recall.
