I never ate there and my dad did not participate in the activities. He is mostly non verbal now. Nice people and friendly staff.

These ratings were for someone with advancing dementia (w/ varying agitation) and advanced incontinence so those factors should be taken into account for our situation. All staff workers that we encountered were helpful and very cooperative. We found BGAL to be better than our experiences with Signature Healthcare personnel overall for sure, and there was the occasional caring attendant at Signature Healthcare but enough less than cordial personnel to be disappointed with that facility.

My mother was previously a resident at Bluegrass Assisted Living Bardstown and her experience at this facility was very good. The staff were very good and very responsive. The housekeeping and the food could have both been a little better, but overall were okay. This facility is a good place for the cost. I would recommend Bluegrass Assisted Living Bardstown to family and friends.

I saw caregivers attempting to assist my relative at Bluegrass Assisted Living than I ever saw at ..[community name removed] more than I ever saw...Even though the meals were rated as a 4, I did see some really decent meals. Based on the experience we have had so far with Bluegrass Assisted Living, I would recommend them to other families.

Bluegrass assisted living located in Bardstown, KY is the most affordable assisted living community within the area. Value for price is exceptional. 1 BR 1 BA apartment is clean and well appointed. Director and staff are knowledgeable, kind, happy, and treat residents with respect. Facility grounds could use landscape improvements. Activities are limited but price reflects.
Read MoreMy loved one is happy here. It is a low key, and not swanky community. If you are looking for comfortable place this is the place for you. My loved one enjoys the food, and has no complaints so far. To my knowledge there are no activities currently due to the pandemic.

My mother has lived here for almost 5 years and I have been very pleased with the quality of the care and the true concern for mom's comfort, health and safety from the caregivers and the administration and on-site administrator, [name removed]. They have games, crafts and some type of entertainment weekly.

As soon as I opened the front door to go into the foyer, smelled a strong odor of urine and feces. When I stepped into the common area, the smell was there as well. The residents I saw seemed ok. I can only rate the overwhelming smell while I was visiting a resident.

Bardstown is a small community where most times we all come together. This is my 2nd family and I would highly recommend it. Just wish we had more volunteers to do more outings.

It's like a family at Bluegrass. The food is great. Everyone gets along with most people. My family member is getting ready to move in because it is so small.

My husband loves people and the staff at Bluegrass were so good with him the week he was there for his respite care. He got to be around the other residents and enjoyed the food. I would have no problem using them again.

My loved one lived here for a few months. The only thing is they have employee turn overs really fast and the food was at a lower grade quality. For example hot dogs were served more than usual. It is a smaller community and it was cheaper. Overall it was okay and no complaints about the care.

My husband and i were there for a little over a week and we never felt more at home. The staff were great! When we left we actually cried leaving the girls was so hard. They were so of the most compassionate and caring individuals that we have ever met! Shannon was great ! she even came in to help with my husband when i couldn't be there for him. Dallas died on October 26 th at home as he wanted to do and i am never more grateful for a bunch of people than i was those girls! thanks again for all your care and concern! When no other facility would even give my husband a try Bluegrass took us in and loved us as if we were their family!

My experience with Bluegrass for my father was not evaluated before he was accepted into Bluegrass. We had to go out and buy furniture specifically for his stay and since he was not properly evaluated was told that we had to leave within 48 hrs which they did stretch out but we were required to hire a 24 hr sitter in addition to paying living expenses this was a major hardship moving him and having to take him back home. The staff was friendly and the place was clean but if he would have been refused acceptance because of his evaluation we could have been better prepared and went somewhere else . I have been told by several people NOW that they were out for the quick buck. Its nice if youre looking just for a home for the elderly requiring very basic assistance. Also we did have one of the staff members that didn't want to move from her chair and chose to grumble when asked for any assistance but the rest were very willing to help.

We weren't so impressed with Bluegrass. We could detect a definite unpleasant odor to the facility as soon as we walked in. This was the last appointment and to say we were disappointed in the tour was an understatement. We definitely won't use Bluegrass.
