Bickford of Quincy
5.0

We really like it so far and have been very pleased, our loved one has not been there long she is currently in a rehab facility. The community itself is very clean, cute with a homey atmosphere. The staff members we have met and dealt with have been very wonderful, we love them and have no complaints as of yet.

Bradford Villa in Quincy, IL
5.0

When my mother was in need of assisted living care I found [name removed] and Bradford Villa. [name removed] was a blessing to both me and my mother. [name removed] is the local owner of Bradford Villa (not a corporate manager) and is available 24/7 as not only the owner but a wonderful RN. Bradford Villa is the closest thing to living at home. Since the Villa only has 8 residents in each building my mother received lots of personal attention from the staff and home-cooked food. Briefly, we tried a few of the other “homes” in Quincy and none of them provided what [name removed] and Bradford Villa offers. Words cannot express the gratitude I have for the support and care [name removed] provided for both me and my mom. For peace of mind and on-site medical support, I highly recommend Bradford Villa when choosing an assisted living home.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home provides room and board to two or more seniors who have no personal relation to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its occupants 24-hour care administered by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide health related services for people who cannot take care of themselves.

Nursing homes can be a helpful and comfortable care option for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will take in persons 55 and above seldom heard of in senior care regarding care types. Types of care services and amenities offered at nursing homes can include 24-hour emergency care, home care (like cooking, cleaning, or help with other daily activities), personal care (including dressing, bathing, and toilet assistance), and senior centers. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include special care services not included in the community’s Medicaid payment, personal reading materials, and specially prepared food. A large portion of nursing home occupants are seniors who experience difficulty with hearing and vision, have a physical or mental disability, require assistance with daily tasks such as walking, or have incontinence issues. The most frequent mental issue effecting nursing home residents is dementia, which can cloud their and their sense of familiarity with their surroundings, decision making capacities, and memory recall. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to be free from restraints, exercise your rights as a U.S. citizen, have your representative notified about your care, and be treated with respect.
