I think the facility and staff are outstanding. I think I have a few hiccups with understanding my role as a partner with the staff. I think that is the most difficult part, determining what the family role is to ensure things go well. It is difficult to find the correct balance. I want to help, but not sure if I am annoying the staff.... Read more

The staff at Highpoint Residence of Quincy are great The housekeeping is weak. Communication with the family is mediocre. The move in process was great. The meals are adequate. I would suggest more off facility activities. I would not necessarily recommend this facility to others.

Response from Highpoint Residence of Quincy
March 5, 2024Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you found our facility affordable, clean, and welcoming. Creating a sense of family is important to us, and we're thrilled that you felt that way. Your recommendation means a lot, and we appreciate your kind words!
We chose Cedarhurst of Quincy over other places that we looked because I liked what I had heard about it from a family member and I researched online and liked what I saw. I didn't really want mom in a nursing home and Cedarhurst is definitely not that atmosphere. My mother is there and she seems to be doing well. I believe she is in good hands and when I say the staff is friendly I truly mean that. They welcome you when you visit and treat you as family!

This facility is a nice place, I'm pretty satisfied with it. My sister is well taken care of. It's always clean and the staff is always friendly. The residents mingle with each other and seem nice. I would recommend them to family and friends.

I was at my wit's end when I was given the name of Cedarhurst. I was so stressed, and the woman in admissions made it so easy, a no-brainer. I could call her at any time with a question or concern. If she was not there, she always called me back, and she was always so kind and understanding. My loved one having dementia is not great, but finding a place where she can be comfortable and safe is just immeasurable. Everybody there has been very friendly and helpful. It's not at all like a typical "nursing home." You would not know this is an older folks' home. My loved one has her own little apartment. As far back as I can remember, my loved one had her hair done every week. But she hasn't been able to do that for some time. Well, the activities director here does the ladies' hair twice a week at no charge, and her going above and beyond like that has just made a world of difference to my loved one, to be able to get her hair done.

This place has only been open about 3 months. The only problem I see is the overnight staff is not always up to par

A Place for Mom has scored Highpoint Residence of Quincy 8.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
