Silver Glen Senior Living in South Elgin, IL
4.7

I would definitely recommend Silver Glen Senior Living to others. The facility itself is great, the rooms are really nice, and everyone seems so nice and welcoming. Another great thing they have is they work with a company that provides Physical therapy, Speech and OT on the premises.. so we've been taking advantage of that with my mom. So convenient to have that in-house and not have to drive to appointments!

Bella Terra Bloomingdale

Excellent caring staff. The food was always hot and fresh. Excellent chef as all of the food is made right there on premises. The nurses and aides were very caring and attentive to our needs. Great therapy team. The facility is immaculate I would highly recommend this facility

Complete guide to nursing homes

Lake Barrington, Illinois

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is a complex that offers residence to at least two individuals who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. This type of residence offers its occupants around-the-clock care administered by on-site nurses. These nurses offer specialized care for seniors who cannot adequately care for their own needs because of mental or physical conditions, including age.

Nursing homes are a familiar and comfy living alternative for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will often accept individuals 55 and above which is for other senior care types. A significant number of nursing home residents are seniors who experience difficulty seeing and hearing, have mental or physical disabilities, require assistance with daily tasks such as bathing, or have incontinence issues. Some services come at an extra cost which can include flowers and plants, personal comfort items, and personal reading materials. A large number of residents are bachelors or widows with less social support, and almost half of nursing home residents are older than 85 years old. Types of care services and amenities provided at nursing homes might include care coordination and case management, patient and caregiver education, home care (like cooking, cleaning, or help with other daily activities), and skilled nursing or medical care. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to have protections against involuntary transfer or discharge, be free from restraints, to manage your money, and be free from abuse and neglect.
