We chose Cambridge House of Maryville because it was recommended to us through family members, they said that it was a well-managed facility. The room sizes here are good, but I do think the kitchen could use some more space. Overall, it is a small community and everyone gets along well here. I would and have recommended for the deaf community. I do think they need an interpreter here to help with communication, that would be very helpful.
The employees at San Gabriel Memory Care are educated and trained on dementia and how to care for this patient population. I like the fact that there are consistent caregivers and always someone nearby if you need help. They are consistent with their care and take the residents to the bathroom every couple of hours. They assist with feedings, also. I'm really impressed with their professionalism. Their Activities Director is awesome and they have things planned for the entire day and try to get everyone involved. The place is clean, but not spotless and the food appears to be above average. I would definitely recommend that families check San Gabriel out for their loved ones with dementia!
The community is friendly and very clean. It depends on what you're looking for for your loved one. I would recommend you look at the community. The food is currently being delivered to the residents' rooms, as the community is waiting to open the dining room until the state says they can. It would be nice to have more communication from the staff towards the family.
