My family member is there for rehab. The therapist is frequently a no show. He is a trip hazard so not supposed to have rugs. Guess what is in his room, that’s right a rug and a bed. But there is only a rug and a bed, no dresser, no light, and no tv. Delmar Gardens North leaves much to be desired, I can’t imagine what would happen if your family member couldn’t advocate for themself.

May 14, 2021Thank you so much! You made our day with this wonderful review!
Please please please do not place your loved one in this facility. The entire staff cares nothing about you loved one if your loved one comes in with physical acitvites they can do such as walk or stand they are immediately stripped of that activity and forced into a wheelchair or bedridden and if your loved one talks to much or is too loud they over medicate until your loved one is in a full stupor. I have thousand of horror stories trust me look further.

May 14, 2021Hi Kelley, We highly encourage and seek families to be involved. Denial is typically done before admission and only if care needs are beyond our levels of care. Please call us to discuss this further so we may understand what happened. Thanks. Sincerely, Delmar Gardens North
When i took a tour of this community i was not very happy with what i saw. The residents were just sitting and the staff weren't trying to help them engage in any activities. The staff that i met were nice with me as well as the tour guide. The community was clean. The guide explained the meal plans available that they had.

October 14, 2016Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know about your experience. We pride ourselves in keeping our seniors engaged in activities in and out of the community in addition to making them feel secure, loved and important. Realistically, on rare occasion, there may be brief segments of the day where it seems “quiet” – of course this could be because of the time of day or evening, for instance after meal times, after an activity, late evening, etc. Yet, there are times where we may have three activities at once: attending a ballgame with residents, while another group is enjoying musical entertainment in the community and yet another group may be doing a craft in the arts area. Having residents engaged elsewhere may add to quiet time in certain areas of the building. Regardless, we invite you to come back and visit us again and meet our Activity Director. Cleanliness is an area of great concern especially when caring for the elderly. Being newly remodeled, our staff is proud of the home we provide to our dear seniors and would like to ensure our residents have the same pride. Please feel free to contact me, Cathy Bono, directly at [removed] schedule a lunch or dinner tour and to share in detail your findings so I may address these urgently and continue our 30 year tradition of love, care and understanding in serving our seniors.
My father has been here for 6 days. He is here for rehab after surgery. Since he has been here he has already done 2 full days of rehab which is great!! He is working hard to get better so he can go home!!! With all that hard work trying to get stronger he has worked up a bit of sweat!! Nice that in these 6 days that he has been here he has not been given a shower or sponge bath!!!!!!! After bringing this to the staffs attention they said that he will receive a shower tonight!! Thank god!! It is now 9:30 at night and still no shower!!!!!!! Guess his sleep isn't valued around here!! So now they are going to make him wait all night to get clean!!!! [removed] So angry I can't put it into words!!!!

A Place for Mom has scored Delmar Gardens North 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
