The staff is very friendly and they let me bring my dog in to visit. Communication is not as good as when we first moved in and I hope that changes. They have activities for the residence to do and my loved one is participating more. I would recommend this community to others based on my experence.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home offers room and board to at least two individuals who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. A nursing home community offers its inhabitants around-the-clock care administered by on-site nurses. These caregivers provide healthcare services for seniors who cannot adequately care for themselves due to their aging.

This type of community is a convenient and easy care option for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will frequently admit persons 55 and greater which is uncommon for other senior care types. A significant portion of nursing home occupants are persons who have mental or physical disabilities, have incontinence issues, experience difficulty with vision and hearing, or require assistance with daily tasks such as bathing. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to have protections against involuntary transfer or discharge, get proper medical care, form or participate in resident groups, and participate in activities. Many residents of nursing homes might have behavioral problems, which can consist of a tendency to wander, verbal outbursts, or resisting care. The most frequent mental condition experienced by nursing home residents is dementia, which can hinder their and familiarity with their surroundings, decision making capabilities, and memory function. Types of amenities and services provided at nursing homes can include skilled nursing or medical care, care coordination and case management, help with shopping and transportation, and intravenous or nutrition therapy.
