The Fountains in Cartersville
4.9

We recently relocated my mother-in-law to Georgia and wanted to find her a special assisted living place to call home. We looked at the possibilities and scheduled appointments. At The Fountains of Cartersville, we walked into a bright, clean, and welcoming entry. We were greeted by the Sales Director, [name removed]. Her bright and bubbly personality and knowledge of the facility enhanced our tour. After having lunch and meeting their chef, we cancelled our other appointments. This is the assisted living place for us. The staff is attentive, and daily activities are interesting. My mother-in-law is settled in and happy. We are glad we found such a wonderful place.

The apartments are very clean and they keep all the gathering spaces and open common rooms very clean. The staff are very good. We like the smaller scale of the community, it is not to overwhelming for our loved one. Based on their calendar they seem to have fairly a lot of activities going on.

When my parents first got there, the staff did a great job caring for my parents. When the new management took over there was a decline. I don't think the new staff is doing as well taking care of the residents. The food is good. They have a lot of outdoor space.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home provides lodging to two or more individuals who are not related by blood or by marriage to the administrator. This type of complex offers its residents around-the-clock care by registered nurses. These caregivers offer personal care, maintenance and other health related services for people who cannot care for their needs.

This type of community is a convenient and comfortable living alternative for individuals 65 years and above, however nursing homes will routinely accept individuals 55 and greater (a rarity in the realm of senior care).Often times individuals may choose life in a nursing home over another type of community due to a physical or mental condition that prevents them from easily accomplishing their standard of living. The most frequent mental disease experienced by residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can cloud their decision making capabilities, memory function, and and familiarity with their surroundings. Examples of amenities and services provided at nursing homes can include 24-hour emergency care, meal programs, monitoring serious illness and unstable health status, and adult day health care (which offers nursing and therapy) . Many residents of nursing homes are seniors with , which can span verbal fits, resisting assistance, or a tendency to wander. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to get proper privacy, property, and living arrangements, have your representative notified about your care, be free from abuse and neglect, and be treated with respect.
