My cousin is a resident at Lakeshore Manor at Lake Jackson and she is very happy and adjusting very well there. The staff has been very helpful and my cousin is enjoying the food at all three meals. I would recommend this facility to others.

Family Extended Care of Sebring

I cannot say enough good things about Family Extended Care. The care, dedication and compassion shown to my mother during her stay, and especially during her final days is more than our family could have hoped for. The facility is bright and engaging. The Director & Head nurse were always present and accessible, addressing and resolving any concerns we had. The facility clearly takes pride in the name Family Extended Care, my mother was cared for like a cherished family member, with the utmost dignity and respect.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home offers room and board to at least two individuals who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. This type of complex offers its inhabitants 24-hour care by on-site nurses. These caregivers offer specialized care for seniors who are unable to care for their needs due to the effects of aging.

Nursing homes are a familiar and comfortable care option for persons 65 years and above, however nursing homes will take in individuals 55 and greater seldom heard of in senior care regarding care types. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include flowers and plants, personal reading materials, and specially prepared food. Often times seniors might decide life in a nursing home over another type of community due to a physical or mental disability that prevents them from easily accomplishing their standard of living. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to get information on services and fees, spend time with visitors, exercise your rights as a U.S. citizen, and participate in activities. Many residents of nursing homes are humans with behavioral problems, which can span verbal fits, resisting support, or an urge to wander. Nursing homes are required to provide room and bed maintenance services, a professionallly directed program of activities, specialized rehabilitative services (treatment for mental illness or intellectual disability), and pharmaceutical services to residents.
