The rooms are very nice and adequate, they have many options to choose from. Our loved one has a beautiful view.

Sun and Sea in Imperial Beach, CA

The people here are really friendly, and the place is very pretty. They have a lovely garden outside. We came and had a little tour, spoke to the people, and they were very helpful and informative. My dad is a hospice patient and they do an excellent job with him and made the transition a very smooth one.

ActivCare at Mission Bay in San Diego, CA
5.0

I first visited this facility shortly before it opened over 10 years ago. Revisiting it for a family member, I found it to be a very pleasant & safe environment, & very convenient to many outings. The staff is well trained and very caring & know all of the residents by name. The ocean/sailing theme on the walls is quite appropriate for the area and very refreshing. The facility smells clean and not medicinal like a lot of care facilities. The food is fresh & tasty & plentiful. I have been very comfortable with my family member living there.

Nursing Homes

A nursing home is an establishment that houses two or more individuals who are not related by marriage or by blood to the administrator. This type of residence provides its occupants with 24-hour care administered by registered nurses. These caregivers offer healthcare services for those who cannot care for their own needs due to the effects of aging.

This type of community is a helpful and comfortable care option for individuals 65 years or older, however nursing homes will accept persons 55 and older which is uncommon for other senior care types. Types of amenities and services provided at nursing homes might include 24-hour emergency care, intravenous or nutrition therapy, care coordination and case management, and bill pay. As a resident of a nursing home, you can expect the right to get information on services and fees, get proper medical care, form or participate in resident groups, and get proper privacy, property, and living arrangements. The most frequent mental condition effecting residents of nursing homes is dementia, which can cloud their memory function, decision making abilities, and and familiarity with their surroundings. Nursing homes are required to provide emergency dental services, room and bed maintenance services, a professionallly directed program of activities, and medically-related social services to residents. There are some services that may come at a cost to residents which can include special care services not included in the community’s Medicaid payment, personal reading materials, and flowers and plants.
