They did a very good job, they did all the things that one would hope for. The staff was very friendly. They had a competitive rate. It was very well organized and provided for the patients needs.

The regular staff has been really awesome except the RN who didn't seem to care at all. I've heard in last 2 weeks there is someone new but I haven't gotten to know her. Facility is very beautiful. Excellent location. I would still recommend them but they are very pricey. Knowing the final price amount before moving parents down would have been helpful. They assessed parents level of need after they moved in because they came from so far. It was a major sticker shock from the estimate. The in house doctor is only available one time a month. If anything comes up between they are sent to ER. This service has done us no good at all. Price is rated on their need of care. Parents are rated needing help with things they really don't need help with. Other areas are halfway paid attention to because they aren't individualized.

I would give everything a 5 except meals/dining - giving that a 4. Both my parents and myself are very happy with Oak Park Place Baraboo!! They love happy hour every Friday night and the exercise classes. They are both in their mid-80s with one having mild dementia and they have nothing but positive comments. They wanted to remain in their home of 50 years. What started as a lot of apprehension immediately changed once they were in Oak Park Place less than a couple of weeks. It's not cheap, but well worth the peace of mind knowing that my parents are not only safe but happy.

Complete guide to independent living

Reedsburg, Wisconsin

Independent Living

Many seniors may be physically and mentally able to live without assistance, but the financial burden of home ownership and the upkeep of the property might deter them from living an independent lifestyle. Independent Living Communities offer a great remedy. Meals, recreational activities andhousekeeping are taken care of while you are unrestricted to use your time as you wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar ages and backgrounds. Typically consisting of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between communities, many residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to employ the services of independent health care providers, they always have the option. There are an assortment of expenses and benefits to consider when choosing an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are covered in the care plan: utilities, internet access, wellness program, Waiting list deposit, laundry, private phone, field trips, and meals. The conveniences that pertain to independent living include concierge services, fitness center & swimming pool, community activities, beauty salon & barber shop, security guards, game/TV room, private rental hall, and transportation.
