Independent Living

An Independent Living Community allows residents the chance to live an independent lifestyle while guaranteeing their care requirements are being met. Seniors may use their free time as they desire while their meals are cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and social activities are organized and scheduled. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a partner if they choose. While policies differ between communities, a number of residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services may always be arranged for with independent care providers if desired. There are a number of benefits and expenditures to keep in mind while determining an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are covered in your plan: laundry, parking, private phone, meals, cable TV, move-in fee, wellness program, and transportation. The conveniences associated with independent living include private rental hall, restaurant-style dining hall, concierge services, laundry service, transportation, security guards, game/TV room, and community activities.
