Independent Living

If you or your loved one want the peace of mind of having your housekeeping handled by professionalls while living at your own pace, consider independent living. You or your loved one may continue to live their lives as they desire while their food is cooked by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and recreational activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Typically comprised of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but without the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily chores out of the way. While policies differ between locations, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing assistance is desired, residents may always enlist the services of private care providers. There are an assortment of advantages and costs to balance when determining an independent living community. It is important to learn if these amenities are covered in the service plan: laundry, transportation, meals, initial assessment fee, parking, move-in fee, utilities, and internet access. The benefits and amenities associated with independent living include security guards, beauty salon & barber shop, private rental hall, game/TV room, healthcare center, restaurant-style dining hall, golf course, and community activities.
