The Regency at South Shore in Erie, PA
4.9

The Regency at South Shore has been a tremendous blessing for my family. When my father passed away, it left the family in a difficult position to care for our mother and support her as heart heart healed from the loss. We did a lot of research into where she would get the best care for her needs and where she would be most comfortable and content. Right away, we were very impressed with what the Regency offered, and my mother felt right at home immediately. She is flourishing now in her beautiful little apartment and has activities during the week that she truly enjoys. She had company surrounding her with the residents and the staff that has been an incredible blessing to her and to us. Mom is extremely happy at The Regency, and we her children are very grateful. This has been an answer to a lot of prayers.

My mom was hesitant about leaving her home of 50+ years and moving into a senior facility but after doing so she is so much happier and very content. Wish we had made this move sooner.

We picked this community because it seemed like a good fit for my dad. Plus, ultimately, he picked. I recommend it to others.

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide individuals with a harmony between an independent lifestyle and not having to concern themselves with the upkeep of basic tasks and chores. Daily needs such as housekeeping and meal planning are accounted for, which permits seniors more opportunities to live their lives as they wish. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Typically comprised of a private living area and a full kitchen, these communities offer homes with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and more time can be spent with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies differ between communities, numerous residences allow pets as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with private care providers as desired. There are an assortment of expenditures and benefits to balance while choosing an independent living community. It is important to figure out if these amenities are covered in your plan: Waiting list deposit, transportation, field trips, wellness program, utilities, move-in fee, housekeeping, and laundry. The amenities associated with independent living include laundry service, restaurant-style dining hall, healthcare center, game/TV room, security guards, golf course, transportation, and community activities.
