River Road Retirement Residence in Niagara Falls, ON
5.0

The staff at River Road are very friendly and attentive to the residents. My sister in law enjoys the food and they have a variety to choose from. They have activities for the residents, however she does not participate in any. The community is well maintained inside and out.

Brompton Heights in Williamsville, NY
3.6

Brompton Heights does a good job at working with you to make sure your loved one has the best care possible. They are compassionate, and skilled at different levels of care for the residents. The meals are decent for my loved one. Ice cream socials, outside entertainment, book readings, celebrations and more are some of the activities available for the residents to choose from.

Elison of Orchard Glen in Orchard Park, NY
4.8

When you have no idea what to do a place for mom can be a big help. It’s good to start looking before you absolutely need it because you have time to make decisions and assess the situation. We got my mom in a nice place where she’s so much better off. It is not assisted living. It is senior housing and they have a lot of amenities there. The woman who helped me actually showed me what we could afford, Where as I had no idea before. The only problem was the woman who helped me, did not live in the area, and was not familiar with where we were living and what was close by. But she was knowledgeable enough to direct us to the right direction.

Bowmansville, New York

Independent Living

An Independent Living Community provides residents the ability to live an active life while assuring their care requirements are met. Meals, leisure activities and housekeeping responsibilities are taken care of for you while you are unencumbered to use your time as you desire. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to be among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and backgrounds. Residents’ quarters consist of private living spaces, each with their own kitchen. The independence of apartment life is still enjoyed, offering opportunities to entertain guests and visitors in a private and personal setting. While policies differ between locations, numerous residences allow cats and dogs as well. If medical or nursing support is desired, residents may always utilize the services of private caregivers. There are a variety of costs and benefits to consider when deciding on an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are included in your care plan: parking, meals, Waiting list deposit, utilities, laundry, private phone, initial assessment fee, and field trips. The amenities associated with independent living include restaurant-style dining hall, community activities, healthcare center, concierge services, security guards, beauty salon & barber shop, transportation, and golf course.
