I have been here since [date removed]. Every day I feel loved by the staff. I have notes because I can't member names and that embarrasses me. The food is better than I can prepare myself. This is a great place to be.

Putnam Farm at Danvers

Staff is really nice. They look out for my mother. Like if she misses a meal, they check in on her. Oh the appt transportation is a pain. It's only available 2 days a week half day. Have to get approval ahead of time. And the they drive you but do not assist into building. When it's a large medical bldg this is difficult for someone in a wheelchair.

Scandinavian Living Center in West Newton, MA
4.8

The whole place has a very friendly atmosphere. SLC offers a lot of programs that are open to people who live in the surrounding community, so the residents feel like they are still part of the community. The food is very good. I would recommend Scandinavian Living Center to others.

Independent Living

An Independent Living Community allows residents the ability to continue to live an active life while ensuring their basic needs are met. Residents may use their free time as they see fit while their food is prepared by a professionall chef, housekeeping and laundry duties are handled by staff, and social activities are scheduled and organized. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy an opportunity to live among peers, surrounded by others of similar age groups and interests. Typically comprised of a private living space and a full kitchen, these communities offer residences with many of the amenities of apartment life but with none of the hassle. Guests can be invited over and entertained, and there will be more time to spend with them with the basic maintenance of daily tasks out of the way. While policies differ between communities, numerous residences allow pets as well. If residents decide they would like to utilize the services of independent health care providers, they always have the option. There are a number of benefits and expenditures to balance while selecting an independent living community. It is important to learn if these services are covered in your care plan: parking, Waiting list deposit, meals, utilities, move-in fee, private phone, housekeeping, and internet access. The benefits associated with independent living include game/TV room, fitness center & swimming pool, concierge services, healthcare center, restaurant-style dining hall, private rental hall, beauty salon & barber shop, and security guards.
