We are so grateful that A Place For Mom matched Mom with Wingate Residences. The staff was so helpful as we navigated entry and move-in, and answered our many many questions kindly and well. Staff from CNAs to food service to housekeeping and maintenance have been friendly and respectful. The other residents are welcoming. There are so many activities, Mom picks up the daily schedule every morning and lives by it. And the food is wonderful! The main meal is lunch, which makes sense for so many health reasons, the variety great and options plentiful. Transitions like this are hard, but Wingate has done everything possible to make it easier. We appreciate it so much.
This is a bright and light-filled environment. The residents are very wonderful to be with. The promised transportation and apartment cleaning are problematic. I greatly enjoy talking about/discussing the wonders of the world during meals.
My mother spent the last 5 years of her life at this wonderful Assisted Living Facility. Grateful is an understatement. We were blessed to have found such a homey place. The staff and care was exceptional and my mom made several friends there. The size of the facility really made a difference in the social experience. My mother's mind was kept at ease because she knew someone was always nearby. I would recommend Home Sweet Home of Athens to anyone who is worried about placing a family member in a facility, because this place made an enormous difference in my mother's and my quality of life.
