I was not impressed with the food. Mainly convenience foods that are high in sodium. My dad needed to be on a diabetic low sodium diet and they really couldn't accommodate that.

Jewel Place in Madison, IN
5.0

My loved one is currently a resident at Jewel Place. It is a clean and well kept facility. Small and family like with an excellent, attentive and caring staff. They offer a range of services. The activities are great and they have one at least once a day, which is appropriate given its small size. I would definitely recommend Jewel Place for someone who is looking for a small community.

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities provide individuals with a handy harmony between an independent lifestyle and not having to worry about chores. Basic tasks such as meal planning and housekeeping are handled by staff and a calendar of recreational and social activities is provided, allowing residents the autonomy to use their time as they see fit, free from daily obligations. Along with their daily needs being met, residents can enjoy the opportunity to be among peers, in a community with others of similar age groups and interests. Within the individual units, residents have access to a private living space and a full kitchen, and can even live with a companion if they prefer. While policies vary between communities, many residences allow cats and dogs as well. Nursing and health care services can always be arranged for with independent care providers as desired. There are a variety of expenses and benefits to consider while choosing an independent living community. It is important to determine if these amenities are covered in your service plan: utilities, internet access, parking, initial assessment fee, laundry, move-in fee, wellness program, and transportation. The conveniences associated with independent living include private rental hall, laundry service, security guards, healthcare center, game/TV room, community activities, concierge services, and restaurant-style dining hall.
